What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
Hello fellow erg enthusiasts:
The first step toward success... envision, vocalize & record your plan... so... in that spirit...
What do you want to accomplish on the erg this season?
I'm now in year 4 of rowing on the erg and likely to crack 5,000,000m this season... my goals...
- improve my 30 min and 60 min PB's
- row at least 1.25 million for the season at an average time of 2:06 or better
- do another 100k piece
- avoid the 100m (got injured last year doing this one)

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
I think I'm aiming for, albeit this is still evolving:
50k PB
FM PB
HM PB
60 mins PB
10k PB
5k PB
2k PB
30r20 - 8200+
I have always said I don't have any interest in doing another 100k (although for some daft reason I'm still occasionally considering a 24hr challenge) but I'm going to see how my 50k feels and I might take my opportunity to do one as I won't have a better time to do it than now.

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
2019/20 was a very good season for me:
rowing: ca. 2.750.000m / 184h
bikeerg: ca. 1.750.000m / 55h
time in training zones:
AT 19:47:11
Reg 2:11:24
UT1 3:28:22
UT2 165:59:06
WU 30:04:43
TR 14:39:52
AN 2:19:58
I only reached 2 goals (100m sub 14.5, 1' >380m), but for all the longer distances (5k+) I improved by 10-15% in wattage which I'm happy with, some of my goals were way to ambitious.
Season's goals: improve about 10% on most distances, so

500m: sub1:20
1K: sub3
2k:sub6:30
5k:sub17:30
30': 8.350m

60': 16.200m

Good luck everyone!

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
Looking forward to a full season having started late last year.
Quite aggressive targets, maybe not for this season but good to reach further....
500m - Sub 1:30
1km - 3:15.0
2km - 6:40
5km - 17:xx
30' - 8,200m
10km - 36:xx
60' - 16,000m
HM - 1:23:00
Looking to start formal coaching and hoping to enter a competition for the experience. In the current circumstances our trip to NZ in November that would make BRIC impossible to enter may well be in doubt so we'll see.
My biggest challenge will be canning the ego and taking erg breaks

Steady progress will be the target, and some distances will be prioritized:
2k: Sub 6:10
5k: Sub 16:15
6k: Break 20
10k: Sub 34
30 min: Break 8800 m
30R20: Break 8600 m
60 min: Break 17000 m
Also, keeping 50k+ every week. Will not aim higher, as that will increase chances of failing. But if I see I cannot improve anymore on 50k, will have to increase as we go
All other PB's will be a bonus I will not be dissatisfied if I cannot do all of the above either, as they will require a lot of work.

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
No harm in putting goals in your signature....I do "get" together with PBs it could all get a little crowded though.
Atm the only one of my targets I look likely to achieve is the deadlift 4 plates (180kg) followed by a distant 500m or 1min PB....
In general though quite a lot of stars have to align for me to hit multiple targets...I simply can't half-ar5e things and expect results these days.

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
Nice thread, Lance.
My goals are as follows.
1. Keep rowing.
2. Average 50k a week. I mostly did it last year (about 47k per week) but I realise that in order to get there I need to have some metres in the bank for when I'm injured or ill or life just gets in the way.
3. Get my head back into the 2k game. I didn't post a proper 2k score last season even though I was in shape to beat my PB.
4. More regularly test my PBs, with an initial focus on the 2k, 5k and 30 minutes.
5. Be more sensible and stop doing those rows where it starts off with a plan to do (e.g.) a steady 40 minutes and then suddenly turns into some kind of mad PB attempt ten minutes in because I'm 'feeling good'!
6. Stop eating so much junk (although I'm not sure I'll be able to achieve this).
7. Specifically, on the PBs, get 2k down to 6:45, 5k to sub 18:05, and 30mins to 8,050.
8. Do more longer, UT1 and UT2 rows.

I was quite pleased to have completed more mtrs last season than the previous one, so my aim for the new season is to better that again, of course with the aim of using the PB thread at least once would be nice

Good Day,
I hope to accomplish the following
100k finish
24 hr finish
2k under 6:30
Yes, I know, opposite ends of the training spectrum, don’t care, time to get after it.
If anyone mentioned their 2k time and want to join me over on the Pete Plan thread, that would be cool.
Stay safe,
David

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
I got my C2 about a year and a half ago.
Mostly to supplement other training.
In the first year I only did about 40-50k, usually 1 or 2k after an indoor bike training session.
I did the April Fool's Challenge and added 120k to that.
My 2k best is like 9:54.
I'd like that to get far lower, maybe well below 9.
For the end of this season, I'd like to get to a million meters.
I think it will take 15k per week, with all the rest that I do, it will be a stretch.

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
Like many Ergers (not necessarily those who post a lot on forums), my real goal is to shift plenty of kilos and get back to full fitness. I want to make the rower and SkiErg a more central part of that plan this year.
So I aim to reach a million metres over the season, having got nowhere near it in the past (max about 500K, 2 years ago). Also, even though I own a SkiErg, I've seem to have regarded it as an occasional diversion / add-on, rather than a serious piece of kit in its own right. So I will make the SkiErg a more regular part of my workouts. If I can aim for 1m on the rower, I'd love to think I could get to 500K on the SkiErg.
I'm not a competitive athlete in terms of other people, but I do like to compete against myself. Last season I didn't break a single PB/PR. I'm getting old (63 this year), but I'm certain I can knock down some of my PBs as they've all been set in the last 3-4 years. The way to do this, I figured, is not to row more furiously, but more cleverly. I need to be sure that my technique gets better, as I'm sure it's not quite right. So I'll be concentrating on this.
Good luck to everyone in reaching our goals -- whichever end of the athletic spectrum we're at!
