Another entry in the Global Marathon Challenge...puts her at the top of the team leaderboard, too. Congratulations, Jodi, on finishing ANOTHER half marathon. No stopping you now.

Congratulations to Andrew and Jodi on completing the half marathon. A lot of work, to be sure, but an effort that more than repays itself in the satisfaction of a challenge met.

Congrats to those finishing half and full marathons. Those are scary numbers to a relatively new and still out of shape rower, but I would like to attempt a HM this year, if only for the nonathalon. I'll probably never have great or good times, but posting times is half the challenge!
Started rowing 4/22/19.
PBs: 1min - 314m, 500m - 1:40.0, 1,000m - 3:45.3, 4min - 1,082m, 2,000m - 7:41.0, 5.000m - 21:18.2, 6,000m - 25:41.6, 30min - 7,010m, 10k - 44:40.5, 60min - 13,112m

What maintenance should I be doing for my erg? We will have had it for one year in June. Just curious what real users do to maintain machines in the real world.

I take it out for a really nice meal once a year - wine it, dine it, and just generally make it feel really good about itself. After that, I clean the chain with a rag, apply a bit of oil to it and tell it to get ready for another year of sweat and abuse.

1229 meters at a 1:37.6 average. Carol recorded the attempt and cheered me on. There might be a few curse words in the video, and I have a few quarantine cookie pounds showing, so buyer beware ... I tried to blur my face and apparently YouTube's face detection algorithm can't handle a face sliding back and forth across the field of view over and over ... :D

I particularly enjoyed the coaching by Carol! Thanks for making such a fun video that we could all enjoy! A vicarious 4 min row was much easier!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 5.01.2020

Post by Kona2 » May 2nd, 2020, 11:02 am

Image It continues...3 boats in the water, 1 boat needs 6 more rowers...

The team roster is at 37 teammates as of this morning. For perspective, on this date:

In 2019, 37 Lunies
In 2018, 25 Lunies
In 2017, 27 Lunies

It's nice to have the data to look back on multiple seasons - and keeps me from concerns that we're not on track. All of you are an important part of our continuum. And I know that on May 8, 2019...we were at 65 teammates and moving right along. It's always good to see returning teammates!

So. Have you thrown down the galactic gauntlet and promised YOURSELF that you're going to reach a certain goal this year? Not asking you to share them...just asking if you have them. Meter millionaire? Completing all of the ranking distances for your erg? Half marathon. Ok, maybe you've only brain whispered these goals to yourself....but a whisper is as good as a shout in this instance. Once whispered, you're on the hook for completion....hahaha!

ODOMETER Reading

Post by Kona2 » May 2nd, 2020, 11:09 am

Forgot to mention yesterday that it's time (first of the calendar month) to write down your motor driven vehicle's odometer reading. During the stay at home, or limited out and about time, see if you can erg, bike, walk MORE self-propelled miles or kilometers than you drive in the month of May! Consider it a Climate Challenge!

I got thru it in an hour and 25 minutes (and a lot of change), I had no intent on going fast(for me). I was watching Better Call Saul and for some reason I got the itch to go. It’s was my best since 2016, I was happy with the results .
