Just put in my first attempt at the 500m. Got a 1:30.8
That's realistically speaking about 1-1.4 seconds removed from my PB (which was done in race mode).
Better then I feared after not having done anything like this intense in about 2 years, but I feel like I could do better.
Bumped the DF up to 150ish and started out with 100m of full power strokes. Then consolidated a tad too low at 1:32 for the middle 200,
after which I tried to pick up the pace for the home stretch. Which was where the rub lay. There comes a time where you need to trade power for rate, and I just didnt have the legs anymore to accelerate the flywheel above 33spm... Had to finish with power strokes so I could not really empty the tank.
Amazing how such a short effort can knock the wind out of you for the following 30 minutes though.. I was really winded on the cooldown.
