how to continue an interrupted ride?

Post by manfred » April 15th, 2020, 8:09 am

Hi there,

as You see I'm new. I am using a bikeErg with a PM5 monitor.

How can I continue a ride that I have saved? I can see the ride, but I cannot select it to continue. When I start pedaling after a break, time and distance always are set to Zero.

Any help for this?

It's not possible.

If you do nothing the PM5 will timeout, once it times out that's it - your workout is done.

You can keep it alive by pressing the [UNITS] or [DISPLAY] buttons or any of the five grey buttons, that will reset the timeout timer.
You can keep it alive if you're running Ergdata on your phone and press "NO" to the "Are you finished?" popup.

I'm not sure of the lengths of the timeouts for a Bikeerg PM5.

Hi Citroen,

with the Ergdata app on the phone and Bluetooth Connection it seems to work perfectly, at least as I was off bike for 10 minutes. (can't Keep Pressing Buttons when I am out of the room.)

Thx a lot

That's more than the timeout limit. So you're out of luck.

When ErgData is connected to the PM5 it should keep the monitor alive for a long time (I haven't checked how long, maybe it's until the phone runs flat :)).

I interpreted Manfred's case as having finished a Just Ride, he saved it to the logbook by exiting the ride, but then couldn't find a way to resume that same piece later on (which wouldn't be possible). So he can see it in memory, but it isn't possible to select and add to it.

Either way, Manfred, as long as the metres are saved to the logbook, it all adds up in the end.
