On the weekdays, Mondays through Fridays, I'm doing workouts sent by my OTW coaches But I will do a 6K ether Saturday or Sunday. That will probably by my SOP while the boathouse is closed.

Did my 6k today, as I've planned to do a 5k TT on Saturday I did it rate restricted (19).
Hope this helps to float a boat :)

GETS REALLY JEALOUS

Martin, I'm curious to see what you can do on the 5k if this was a (very) restricted effort.

For me the difference between R19/20 and free rate isn't too big, I go for sub18, we'll see this weekend :)

Everyone is welcome Mike, feel free to join up and get busy with some challenges!
I find the extra motivation they give help keep the erging that little bit more fresh during these corona-virus groundhog-day like months.

Welcome Mike. Let us know if you need help navigating and signing up for the various challenges.

For starters, edit your profile in the logbook and select Forum Flyers as your Affiliation. This will get your metres accumulating towards the season total for us.

Then go to the Teams heading on the logbook and choose "Forum Flyers (since 2005)" there. That should make you show up on the list of team members that participate in team challenges. It's too late to join the World Erg Challenge, but if you row a 6000m before the end of April 12 (GMT) then I'll be able to add you to one of the team boats.

Then sign up for the Cross Team Challenge. It's a separate site not affiliated with Concept2, but has been running interesting monthly challenges since 2005. The sign up process can be confusing with odd error messages sometimes, but power through and eventually it should let you log in.

Cheers
Dave

Welcome!

If you're willing to share, we'd be interested in some additional info like first name, where you are, basis history. One day I'll collect these profiles somewhere, but for now they're just scattered through the pages here.

Cheers

Sure Dave :-)
My name is Ronald. 35, maried and I live in the Netherlands. Growing up I did al sorts of sports such as Rugby, MMA, Crossfit, Dancing, Tennis, Tabletennis, Soccer etc. After my rugby "carreer" I suffered from a lot of injuries and decided I wanted to do a sport which is less prone to injury and that I could do on my own. So I started cycling and I liked that a lot, lost about 17kg (37lbs) and competed at a reasonable level. The only problem with cycling is that it takes a lot of training hours to compete at a decent level so after I bacame a dad, working fulltime etc. I simply couldn't maintain the training effort, lost motivation etc. No I am in my mid 30's, out of shape and decided I should get back into shape. I bought a concept 2 rower a couple of years back and I am having a lot of fun on the concept2 since is it is a good mix of power and cardio.

To keep myself motivated I always like to compete in whatever I do, that's how I ended up here. Once again, thanks for having me :-)
