"Brett 80,097 m ...hoping that there was a bunch of bike meters in there...MEGA"

I think there was some spillover from the previous day in there. The most I'm doing is around 40k "competition" meters a day which of course counts bike as half. Yesterday, I did 16.66k bike, 13.33k ski, and 10k row. Today I started off with 20k on ski. No 2 days are the same for me. I just go with however I'm feeling that day. I'm down to 262k on skierg to get a million for the season which is my last season goal, so I do prioritize skiing some.

A couple extra things

Post by Kona2 » March 22nd, 2020, 12:59 pm

My mom will be 90 in a couple months. Not being able to visit her causes me some worry. When I visited in February, I made sure that I had the phone numbers of her immediate neighbors - all of whom are teachers! I have received several messages from them asking if she is ok, does she need a home cooked meal, and how can we help. Amazing outreach! When the schools closed, kids in the neighborhood wanted to do something for others- so they painted small rocks and left them by the mailboxes or in the mailboxes. She told me: I got a rock. Like many other streets in many other neighborhoods, she's seeing a lot more people out walking, whether or not they have dogs. She likes this, and feels much less isolated. I worry less.

Her flip phone of many moons quit working a few months back, and my sister gave Mom an older iPhone - something Mom had been asking for for a few years. My first two thoughts were: (1) OMG - this can never work; and, (2) we're going to have to put parental controls on the parent...because she keeps pushing the device buttons until something different happens, and could inadvertently sign up for a lot of things. Flash forward a few weeks. Mom has figured out text messaging, and yesterday she sent me her first iPhone picture. She is quite proud of her abilities. Me too. Never too late to learn new things...or to reach out to elderly neighbors.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 3.23.2020

Post by Kona2 » March 24th, 2020, 12:14 pm

Concept2 is still accepting orders for the US and Canada by phone and online. Orders are currently shipping within 3 business days of receipt. If you need to speak to us, please contact us during regular business hours (M–F, 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m. EDT) or email info@concept2.com. We are doing our best to respond to after-hours inquiries within 1–2 business days. Concept2 oar production is temporarily suspended. Thank you for your patience.

The above message is posted in a banner on the Concept2 website - and I know not everyone looks at that page every day. This might just be YOUR time to buy a Concept2 erg of your choice. You can make room for it SOMEWHERE...and I think there are many on the team who would say that it is the one (or more) piece of exercise equipment that doesn't become dust covered. Having your own erg means you can fit in some extra meters during a lot of different times. They aren't tough to put together...think about it. Great way to support a company that has provided us with so much to talk about- and lots of things we can earn with our meters!

Image Image

Good work by the Lunie Challenge Team ! Rockin' the meters! We are close to 5 MM Challenge Team meters!

Image 8 MORE DAYS !!!

ImageSometime tomorrow we will surely have some Lunies who are able to virtually high five us with the news that they have completed the Mud Season Challenge at either the 5K or 10K level. Focused on getting it done, these Lunies will have pushed themselves to get to the erg even on the days when just getting to the erg was a Challenge. Keep going! You're not there yet!

5000 m participants 2,608 Lunies = 32 (down 1 from yesterday)

10000 m participants 838 Lunies = 21 (holding the LINE! Yes!)

Might be a NEW RECORD for Lunie palindromes on a single day ! We have 12 !

The Lunie Challenge Team is throwing down a lot of meters...and their efforts are helping us hang in there at the fifth spot on the leaderboard ! Never fear, there is always always always a team that is chasing us...just as we chase those ahead of us. It's the way of the Challenge...(this is the way..and I have spoken...two memorable lines from Mandalorian)...

Image Day 25 of 31...you're in it to finish!

5000 m participants 2,488 Lunies = 33

10000 m participants 818 Lunies = 21 !!!

The Concept2 Universe in the Mud Season Challenge....only 14 percent of the 5 K participants are still in orbit (1.3 percent Lunies). Only 11 percent of the 10 K participants are still in orbit...and 2.5 percent of them are Lunies. At the peak of participation, 0.6 percent were Lunies. Staying power...I'm telling you it's staying power !!

Like many other places around the world we are in virtual lock-down in Australia. No travel internally, so no outback trips for Janet and I for a while. So, gardening and erging in "the shed" looks like the way too go.

Good luck to all out there and stay safe...Cheers, Baz B)
