Oh my, I feel bad. I've been very much under the weather for the last few weeks and haven't done anything. I didn't realize there was a deadline for signing up for the Team Challenge, and that I wasn't signed up. This is the first time in 7 years I've missed the Team Challenge.

I finally felt decent enough to row on the 19th, but discovered the deadline was the 16th. I am bummed.

Sorry all.

Sorry you've been under the weather, Howard! There is always another Challenge...and the next team one is the World Erg Challenge that starts in mid-March. I bet you'll be on that roster! Just keep erging!

Kudos to the transportation workers that put out the "pay attention" and "warning" signs as you enter a construction zone. I particularly liked the following one that I saw yesterday:

Looking ahead
Will save your behind

Stay focused out there!

If your personal Challenge target is to be in the top 10 percent of all participants...you need to have about 205,000 m in your Challenge meter piggy bank. Mega meters aren't necessary...but consistency is...you just have to keep yer pedal to the erg metal !

Lunies are racking up the milestones! And two more Lunies have returned to the roster: Tony, and Remon! Tony started all the palindrome chasing that we do...and every so often throws in a Fibonacci sequence !

I just came across a how to guide on Ergathlons. https://www.concept2.com/news/introducing-ergathlon

I’ve been doing the same concept over the last few weeks. Will be fun to log it as a workout by chaining the machines together.

My quest for a million meters for the competition is coming into the final stretch. I’m going to use some of the cushion I’ve built up to take it easy the next couple days. My body is sore and worn out. The last couple days were the most challenging to complete since the first week. I lost all my Christmas weight gain and am able to eat whatever I want while losing. That’s been fun after 6 months of eating discipline prior to Christmas. While it may seem crazy to many, pushing your limits for a month is a cool experience. In my opinion, the mental toughness required is the biggest challenge. You do have to have a minimum level of physical fitness to do it, but it’s probably not as high as one my think.

This is the first day of the last week of the month. For some, it’s time to coast in to your goals. For others, it’s maintain the pace or even sprint to the finish. Whatever it is for you, I salute you!

Part of staying focused on your goal(s) is for sure knowing when to take a break. We've got one week of opportunity remaining in this Challenge, and with a little over 11 MM in the Challenge Meter piggy bank, we might well make it to lucky 14 MM...and that would be incredible! It will be close, but is a good goal to focus on!

TWENTY Million Lifetime Meters!! Woot !

Post by Kona2 » January 25th, 2020, 1:46 pm

Whoop, whoop and this one took a few years! I'm celebrating my 20th million meter milestone today! That's comprised of 16.5 MM indoor rowing machine and 3.5 MM bike erg. I think that's an 18 MM equivalency. With luck, I will finish off the 20 MM rowing machine in the next couple of years. My goal is to have my 40 MM orbit be half rowing and half biking....SO. I'm wishing for many, MANY more milestones!

Apologies in advance for my forthcoming low submissions the next 2 days, I seem to have picked up a stomach bug or food poisoning. Going to get 500m in to keep the individual goal alive, but won’t be able to contribute much to the team effort.
Started rowing 4/22/19.
PBs: 1min - 314m, 500m - 1:40.0, 1,000m - 3:45.3, 4min - 1,082m, 2,000m - 7:41.0, 5.000m - 21:18.2, 6,000m - 25:41.6, 30min - 7,010m, 10k - 44:40.5, 60min - 13,112m
