Hooyah! The 34th reindeer of the Challenge has been claimed! Congratulations, danwho!
Tall Tale (danwho )
danwho is connected to the Wickwars in the UK...and there's a well known brewery called Wickwar Brewery. They make amazing craft beers, or so we're told, and at Christmas they make one called Christmas Tall Tale. And so it was that danwho got this reindeer name a few seasons ago. From the Wickwar Brewing website:
BEER BRINGS US TOGETHER
There is nothing better in life than good company and great beer. For us, the real magic happens when we sit down with friends to trade stories, and if every good tale comes with a fine ale, it helps the truth to stretch and the good times to roll. We call it tall stories from the tall glass.
Pretty sure that danwho could spin a tall tale from a tall glass...and we'd all be glad to listen.

Stargazer (Norma)
Congratulations, Norma, on your rapid ascent from 100K to 200K, earning the $6 for your chosen charity and earning your Holiday Pin. Onward !!
Many know that when you're out gazing at the stars, you can totally interfere with your night vision using a white light. The practice used to be that red would preserve your night vision a bit better, but I've read in trusty wikipedia that the practice is moving towards using blue or blue-green light these days.

Wow... well, thank you. But ummm, I'm afraid everyone's going to know what's in the box now.

The forum has been around for quite some time (a mere flash as it goes by) - and so has the Holiday Challenge. Earning your reindeer is something that appears to be uniquely Lunie in the Concept2 Universe, so I went back in our Lunie Chronicles to see when and where the reindeer tradition started. I first posted a reindeer comment on December 8,2009. We didn't go through all the antler lights or have a lot of specific graphics until later- which was probably 2010 (I didn't look that far). I threw the initial graphic out, and AJ made it even more fun with input from the team on what meter levels we wanted to recognize. I believe he was working on how to animate graphics at that time, and we are the beneficiaries. And now you know.
thank -you and aj for making this challenge so much fun :-}

Freya (Minnie )
Minnie's decided to retire Mata Hari, the reindeer, at least for this season. Freya, Norse goddess of love, beauty and fertility, should be a good reindeer name for her.
Snort. My reindeer came with a resume!? I guess I should beware of reindeer Loki, as he always seems to be spreading mean rumors about poor li'l Freya-deer. Brothers and elves notwithstanding. (See, now you have to Google Norse mythology.)
My knowledge of Norse mythology comes mainly from “The Almighty Johnsons “, a strangely compelling NZ interpretation in which Loki is quite a rake, and an immature Odin is searching for an elusive Freya...
Hah ... The Almighty Johnsons is a hoot. I only watched a few episodes, but my knowledge of Norse mythology grew exponentially!

11 days of opportunity remain...reindeer available!
You know how at the beginning of the day you contemplate where you would like your meters to be in the Holiday Challenge at the end of the day..and that seems like a really big, but possible number? Let's hope that it still looks that way later on! Had to push myself to stay the course yesterday...so many opportunities to get off the reindeer path
Just sayin' I get it.
