Bubble wrap is worth trying- lots of variety in thickness and bubble size- and it's cheap!

I made my own out of 4 layers of an old and cheap yoga mat. About 2 inches thick in total.
Made the holes after sitting on it for a while, that way i could see where I needed to cut the holes to match my bones.
Also made the hole slithly bigger than the previous layer. Works really well.
