So I got myself a C2 seat pad after trying one out and I am actually finding my arse is more numb than without it

.....do they need time to soften up?
First use was Thursday last week and I've had a bit of sciatic pain since then. Can't be sure it's the pad but wondering if others have had similar issues?
It certainly seems to help prevent chaffing do I'll stick with it a bit longer for now.

Try turning it round the right way (cut-out at the rear of the seat).

That's the way I have it...I think it may be the 2 holes where the sitz bones go....around that area is more aching than without.

The holes for the sitz bones may not be in the right place to match your anatomy or it may just be a case of HTFU.

I just got seat pads to try too. I like them so far. I haven't got any rubs/sore since I starting using them. Are you suppose to remove the cutouts (circles)? I didn't.
56 yo, 6'3" 205# PBs (all since turning 50):
1 min - 376m, 500m - 1:21.3, 1K - 2:57.2, 4 min - 1305m, 2K - 6:27.8, 5K - 17:23, 30 min - 8444m, 10K - 35:54, 60 min - 16110, HM - 1:19:19, FM - 2:45:41

The cutouts are there to protect your sitz bones and your coccyx.

Mine are from the C2 site too but the circles/holes have a cut-out that I left in place - guess I should remove them. I will try that and see how it like it - I bought a few so I can switch back if needed.

Seems like the UK version comes with holes removed....and costs £12 vs the US version which is $3.50....always get fleeced in the UK!

Yeah, they were very inexpensive for me, so bought a few. I will be thrilled if they continue to keep me from getting the chaffing sores.

I have seen the ones with holes, so I know what you mean, but I bought a rowing seat cushion--a big, fat memory foam one, about 3 inches thick, with elastic straps to attach to the seat--and I've loved it. I'm pretty bony, and I used to get terrible blisters from my tailbone. I had resorted to putting down folded up towels, but now I love my cushion.

Gotcha...a folder towel didn't help me...in fact it made botty bum chaffing worse as it bunched up in the wrong areas
