Affordable recreational sculls

No, ergs don't yet float, but some of us do, and here's where you get to discuss that other form of rowing.

Affordable recreational sculls

Post by Tricializ » November 16th, 2019, 8:46 am

I am looking for a used Eden TS515 or equivalent for my rowing son. Would love for Christmas (hence looking for used). Do I bite the bullet and just get new (and hide the receipt from hubby haha) or does anyone ever sell these used? THanks so much.

Some of my friends have found good buys on Craigslist. And now is a pretty good time to find bargains, with the rowing season ending in a lot of areas.

The website row2K has classifieds, also. row2K is mostly racing shells, but the occasional rec shell pops up, too. If you are in California, Open Water Rowing is rotating their fleet out and has several boats in that class for sale right now. Here is the specific link: https://www.row2k.com/classifieds/index.cfm?ad=11764

Good luck with your hunt!

Our club bought a couple of new ones as we couldn't find used. Always the story, happy to spend $10 on a racing boat but wont spend $2k on a good trainer unless they absolutely have to.
If you do buy a used boat (of any kind) go and see it before you buy it as "like new condition" means something different to the seller than it does to the buyer. Also you wont get a warranty on a used boat.

These folks, Adirondack Rowing, often have good used shells.
