Your pets don't understand daylight savings time either...not when it starts, and not when it ends. But especially when it's an extra hour before feeding time at the zoo.

Behold and forsooth - two words to garner your attention! In the last year, the bike erg population in our Luniverse has doubled! Quietly, because I don't remember some saying much about their new acquisitions! We now have 14 bike erg contributors - granted some are multi-erg contributors. This is awesome! In fact, there's no time like now to browse the Concept2 offerings...and whisper to Santa that a new erg under the tree would be ever so much appreciated!

Preemptive Reindeer

Post by just27 » November 7th, 2019, 1:33 am

I'm going to miss the beginning of the Holiday Challenge, but would like
to make a pretty-please preemptive reindeer request ... to be Blitzen!

There's something so wrong about this cartoon, but Blitzen the reindeer name is yours...as long as you don't wear him.

For those new to the team, we are nearing reindeer season. Here in the Luniverse, we have some good fun with the Holiday Challenge. A quick preview:
- at 100 K (200 K for bike ergers), you earn your reindeer - you can choose a reindeer name, or one will be bestowed
- at 200 K (400 K for bike ergers), you earn your holiday challenge pin, AND reindeer bling...the lighted antlers
- at 300 K (600 K for bike ergers), you earn the flashing harness
- at 400 K (800 K for bike ergers), you earn the tail wag
- at 500 K (1 MM for bike ergers), you earn the ear wag

Half marathon training

Post by Jodi » November 11th, 2019, 9:28 am

I have been having some trouble with what I thought was my PM3 but was in fact the cord that goes to the monitor. It stopped me dead in my tracks during the Fall Team challenge. I was able to replace it myself and am back to rowing. Now that it's cold outside and the beach is no longer an option I figured I'd set a goal for myself. So I'm planning on rowing a half-marathon on New Years Day. I looked and looked for an 8 week rowing plan and couldn't find any that suited me, so I took a half-marathon training plan for running and converted it for rowing. I'll see how this works out and if it turns out to be a good plan (meaning one that I don't die trying to do) I might post it someplace for others looking for something similar.
I'm hoping that by sharing my goal with my fellow Luna-Tics it will make me accountable and less apt to set this goal aside when it starts getting tough. And if I accomplish this goal I should have a reindeer in the Holiday Challenge at the very least.
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, used up, totally worn out, & loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

Image A day to honor our veterans.

Got a clear view of the sunny sky? If so, grab your eclipse glasses (surely you saved them!?) and look for planet Mercury to be on the move...a small black speck against the surface of the sun. Read all about it here: https://www.space.com/mercury-transit-2019-has-begun.html

Or you might be viewing snowfall. Not a sunbeam in sight. 13 F. But there is NO day too cold, no night too dark, to play frisbee according to Kai the dog.
