Multiple users on PM5?

Post by Steeps » August 21st, 2019, 10:42 pm

I am considering an erg with PM5 for my son and I to use but I would like it to be able to store cumulative data for each of us (not combined). So I could see how far I had rowed compared to my son for example. Or personal bests? Is this possible with PM5? Thanks for any info.

You'll need two USB sticks, one for each user.

Or use a personal cell phone or tablet/iPad with Ergdata installed for each user.

Interested here...

Previous Model D/PM3 and Model E/PM4 owner and enjoyed the log card and different users function. What I particularly liked is looking at only my monthly totals, rows etc. and with my new Model E/PM5 this functionality appears to have gone :(

My wife and I have setup ourselves with our iPhones for the ErgData app, and when we both row using our devices it all logs correctly - but what I want is that when my iPhone is connected I can look at only my previous rows and monthly metres, not combined.

Is this possible when using the USB? If so can you use both USB and iPhone together?

It should work. But you get way more analytical data at https://log.concept2.com with Ergdata.

The USB gives you nothing more than the old logcard.

I am interested in this topic as well. New to the rower. Have been using for a couple of weeks and my wife wants to start using it as well. Just want to make sure I got this right. I use Ergdata on my iPhone. If she sets up Ergdata on her phone as well under her account, the PM5 will only log the workouts for the phone that is connected to the PM5 at that time and sync with the logbook that is used on that phone. Is that correct? Also, does the PM5 memory keep track of all activity on that rower (regardless of the user), a combined total of all workouts?

Thanks for any help!

Regards,

Pete

Yes that is how Ergdata works.

The PM5 memory records every workout, unless a USB stick is inserted.

Just one word of warning. I've had issues in the past trying to use both Ergdata and a USB stick at the same time. The explanation C2 gave me was that with both connected the PM5 doesn't know which to write the results to and anomalies can arise - although it does work sometimes. What I do now is always just use Ergdata on my phone and sync that to my C2 online log. I then move workouts from the PM5 to a USB stick weekly to keep that as a backup. Its all worked and been useful for the odd rare occasion when Ergdata has failed to record a session. It will still be on the PM5 and can go via USB stick to my C2 log which will then sync back to Ergdata on the next sync command, so all databases remain complete and up to date.
