First time have managed sub 8 minutes, might not seem that impressive to the big boys on here but am absolutely over the moon. Very new to indoor rowing having only started 6 months ago but following the BPP really loving the sweat n pain.

Looking to complete a HM before Xmas.
Well done. Sub 8 mins is a big milestone.

Well done Ted you have broken a milestone and it's never about what other people can do, it's always about what you can do and beating what you used to only be capable of doing.

The times will keep improving as you keep getting more metres completed.

We'll done Ted....a great milestone to smash through.

I'm following the BPP too and have found some improvements through sticking with the program.

What a difference a day makes!...Smashed out a new 10km PB and took nearly a minute of my previous best...very satisfying and at no time did I feel in trouble. Got into a good rhythm early on and never looked back... finishing with a burst too. So pleased to have had access to a #Concept2 for this session....soooo much better than #technogym #skillrow....if only my gym would listen!

You know my thoughts on this one Alex, this is a great improvement and you're capable of more if there were no wobbles. Time to believe in yourself and test your boundaries again, BUT most of all well done

:) ....maybe I can squeeze a little more and get 38:00...with my build the longer distances are more likely to produce results I think.

Thanks again

Alex, you seem to be thriving at holding the low 1:50s/500m in training and TTs. From my experience, you get into a groove, it hurts but you can still knock out the splits. I think 5k is my limit in terms of the time I am currently prepared to suffer and hold on to it. Am mentally preparing myself for another 2k tilt which I think I am more suited to. Keep up the good work, it is good to see the big improvements you are making.

Thanks Phil.

Good luck with the 2km TT...I dread that but it's my ultimate goal to sneak under 7mins....just not sure I can hold 1:45 at the moment. Like you say 1:50s feel achievable up to 10km. Think I need to build some muscle and strength to go quicker over shorter distances.....and for asthetics 😎

I think it's about finding what suits you and what you can cope with physically and mentally, but above all what you enjoy. I think 1k-5k is my range as I'm not super fast over 500m and don't have bags of endurance. Have just started doing more weights and core because I want to develop more power to get faster. Will do the 2k in about 5 weeks. Am currently doing an endurance phase and adding 2 SPM to the efforts every week. Another couple of weeks of this and then 3 weeks of short stuff, rest up and see what I can do.

I love this attitude to now say you want sub 38:00 - great goal to push for next.

I'd set sub 39' for 10km and sub 19' for 5km as my targets for the year.....but can now happily re-adjust those to new milestones :) They did look like low hanging fruit compared to the 2km.

2km on the other hand is looking a little more challenging....based on recent interval sessions I just can't see myself holding less than 1:45 for 7mins.....so need to focus on training for an attempt on this soon. Need more power in the legs and body which I might only get from some different training like weights.
