After at least a years worth of gathering info and data I still have not decided on what to buy as an upgrade to my Alden Quest. Just wondering if anyone has any input on the Little River Regatta? I row on a small, nearly always calm lake. I don't plan to compete but continuously want to improve my techinque and corresponding results. I am a 6', 180# male.
Any input will be greatly appreciated

Re: Little River Regatta for intermediate rower?
Hi,
It looks like an almost exact copy of a Maas Aero. I have one of those and the Aero is a beautiful boat to row. I use it to row on open water (Cape Cod Bay) and it is responsive, stable and a blast under all imaginable conditions.
It would be an easy step up from the Alden Quest you are rowing. You might want to think about boats in the 24 foot class. The leading contender in this group of boats is the Maas 24. This boat is also very well regarded and is great open water racing boat and a stable and fun boat on flat water.

It might look a little like a Maas Aero but it's no where near as good. Greg is right the Aero is a wonderful boat and it will go anywhere you are capable of rowing. Light and easy to row but fast and excellent in bumpy water. I would recommend an Aero over the Regatta any day.
