ahh jeez, got another one coming up next week. Hmm time sure flies bye when you dont have to worry about testing. Anyhow, this time i'm aiming for under 23:50.

Btw, what is a good range for 2ks based on 6k times? As in split difference. I always thought that 6-8 was the range but I know some people that are off by 10-11. I am thinking of doing a 2k the week after christmas to see what kind of times i have there... thanks

I row my 6k at roughly a 26. There's not much thinking involved going into this. Just eat well get lots of sleep and row hard. Your 2K should be like 10-12 below your 6k average split.

I think for your first 2k, you're best to follow the pace and splits that seem the most reasonable to you; difficult and able to sustain for the duration. I would disagree that your 2k split should be 10-12 seconds below your 6k split. I find that my 2k split is typically 7 seconds below my 6k split and I might blow up if I tried for 12! Your first 2k test piece will help you establish a ball park figure and you can fine tune after that.

Good luck!!

for changing from 6k to 2k... its generally a good rule to drop 6-10 splits... Usually 8 or above for the bigger guys.. So yeh...
