Image We finished 10th overall..! Congratulations, Lunies!! An outstanding effort!!

Four teams were within 200K of each other with 11 MM and change. We missed 9th by less than 9K. Arrrgh. There are still a couple of days to input meters, and we and other teams may find some.

Since landing on the lunar surface, we've driven our lunar rover almost around the circumference of the moon....our spacecraft should be visible soon and preparations will be underway to celebrate the end of the season....and to get ourselves to the teleporter so we can be beamed back to Earth, where we will once again start our journey to the moon. We learned some journeys ago that Lunie teammates are all about going TO the moon, but getting back to Earth should be a speedier process. So. We use the orbiting teleporter station to beam back to Earth, and it is from Earth that the good ship LunaTic will be starting out for ANOTHER journey to the moon on May 1st. We hope that all our current Lunies will join us once again!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 4.18.19

Post by Kona2 » April 19th, 2019, 10:40 am

Another blue sky day in the Rockies!!

Tucson International Airport is a civil-military one, and small when compared to major airports in other states and countries. What it does have, as part of its military alliance, is some really fast jets. There I was, waiting for my flight to Denver, when a couple of F16s were practicing touch n go's right in front of me. They were loud, and too fast to get a glimpse of what plane they were...so I texted my Air Force godson to ask what fighter jets flew in and out of Tucson...and were they out of Luke AFB in Phoenix? He began a question and answer of "are they black and loud"...yes. Are they shaped like a bat or long and pointy? Then he sends video clips to say "does it resemble this or this?" I enjoyed this, but ultimately had to ask at the desk...what are those?! And that's when I got the F16 answer...

Hooboy! I've got some meter making up to do after my time away...and am busy figuring out how I can hit the 2 MM milestone by 30 April...because on May 1st everything ZEROES out and we begin our journey again!

It was the bottom of the 12th, two outs and Chuck Nazty (aka Charlie Blackmon) is at the plate with two strikes...and it's a walk off homer! Love those happy endings!

Meanwhile, this is ubiqui-bunny season (translation for those who don't speak K2-ese, this is ubiquitous bunny season). Early morning paper retrieval reveals several bunnies in the yard, a couple in the hedges, and more just sitting in the street outside. Happy start of the day for the dogs!
