100km every day, no injuries, no illness, no bad days, no over training?? I have seen someone ran an FM every day for a year, and that was considered close to the boundaries of what is possible.
Stu, when your training is all on the job, the job is the training. Overworked is the adjective that working stiffs apply to themselves. Many of those who treat indoor rowing as a fulltime job are post-retirement age or younger folks who are not employed. Work does fill up the days. Are they overworked? Are they “pacing themselves” to complete their contract with the monthly or yearly metre challenge? Or both?

My best guess is that, in addition to “time on their hands,” chronic physical illness (search Diane Brennan/fiber myalgia) and possibly mental stress attributable to loss of friends, loved ones, and better days are significant impetus to taking up a physical activity which distracts from pain, self reflection and self pity.

Scepticism with regard to the long term sustainability (or even possibility) of daily low intensity erging equivalent to 2 FMs+ is justified imo. But condemnation of all who claim to do this as cheats and liers would have to include some who, however improbably from our pov, very likely have done.

Agnostic suspension of disbelief is advisable for those of us who have yet to take all the twists and turns in this sporting life.

Correction to previous post:

Diane Brennan should be DARLENE Brennan. I was also thinking about the incredible feats of Diane Michna (Cikan Vuz) which I believe may have been questioned by C2 based on her own statement in this forum circa 2014-15.

Yeah fair comment Jack. I'll remain cynical but I'm not going to accuse someone of cheating or lying unless I know for sure, and my gut feeling is never going to he sufficient.

I recall reading about a team of disabled American veterans who spend all day every day on the erg.
Am I correct in thinking that distance logged for adaptive rowers scores double metres?
No less an achievement of course but that would bring it to within the bounds of realistic.

Arms and shoulders only has largest ratio at 1.9 to 1 so practically doubles meters rowed. High meters in USArmy Namvets affiliation rowing in the Military Challenge is routinely an adaptive rower. Very few adaptives chalk up astronomical totals on the annual metrebd.

Do the math based on the pace they are rowing at and work it out yourself how many hours a day you need to spend in the seat.

Its the primary reason that the "average pace" for those meters should also appear in a separate column.

Of course if all the meters rowed are not verified to begin with, my philosophy is it never happened in the first place.Concept 2 has a new T-Shirt for the winner
