There are always very suspicious results on C2. For example the 5km rankings had a 1st place of 5 mins 39 secs as a verified result. It's gone now but I think that was 33 secs pace!!
100k a day, every day isn't believable as it will take you circa 8-9 hours at a decent pace, and probably closer to 10 hours....every day?? I can't believe anyone, let alone a 61 year old, is indestructible enough to cope with that kind of effort day in day out. I might be wrong, but I have experience of a 100km session so I am not just guessing at what it feels like

It is possible to make lots of meters. Forum flyers used to have a member who took his erg to malls etc and rowed for good causes. Did this at a relax pace, but for hours a day, did 1 to 2 full marathons a day. Its like walking our cycling, an average person with no health issues can do this daily.

Right! It just doesn't add up - I mean is it "possible"....maybe but seems hard to believe to me. I take the numbers in the annual meters Honor board with a pinch of skepticism. There are some pretty wacky numbers - ages and meters rowed. Consider that the meters do not have to be verified by ergdata or USB stick. You can type in anything that you want.

there are some people who have legitimately done 3 million meters for one of the monthly challlenges more than once - it takes about ten hours a day and is achievable but IMO to do that for a whole year is very hard to imagine.

Yes, you need to be able to basically live on the erg. Ditch your job and get rowing. Rig up some sort of method where you can feed yourself but not stop rowing, or get a team of people to help. Stock up on DVD boxsets or maybe master the art of rowing while reading a book at the same time because you're going to get bored. Hope that helped.

The training required to be able to achieve 30 million in a year would depend on the current physical condition of the individual. Some one who has been rowing for a few months may be able to achieve this goal depending on how the body adapts to the constant repetitive motion of rowing. The pace one rows would also count as this could wear out the person if done to fast. Diet/nutrition plays a role as well.
The current leader on the Concept 2 Annual Meters Honor Board has done most of his meters on the bike erg. So he is not anywhere close to rowing over a 100k a day.
The second place leader, Don Altrichter, is a disabled vet who would have the time to row all of these meters in a day. He is just under 97k a day.
Next person is at about 55k a day.

As much as I love to see people push the boundaries of what is considered possible I just can't believe this is possible.
100km every day, no injuries, no illness, no bad days, no over training?? I have seen someone ran an FM every day for a year, and that was considered close to the boundaries of what is possible.
Doing more than double that distance every single day, even if sat down and going really slowly will take a massive toll on your joints, ligaments, muscles, central nervous system etc nevermind it will have to take circa 10-11 hours to be sustainable, how can anyone recover sufficiently if there is no rest, and circa half your day is taken up rowing?
I'd love to proved wrong as it's a superhuman achievement if they have done it, but I have had a small glimpse of what ultra distances are like, and your body needs to adapt and recover otherwise it's quickly into diminishing returns.
