All your major muscle groups - a rower must be all-over well balanced. <br><br>To increase specific power for rowing, though, you could think on seated rows, bent over rows, high-pulls, clean and jerk, lat pulldowns.<br><br>AM

Hamstrings - Romanian (Stiff-Leg) Deadlifts, Good Mornings, Leg Curls <br><br>Lats and Traps - big time! lots of pull-ups, chin ups, bent over barbell rows, power cleans, seated rows(using the small straight bar so it simulates the erg handle),heavy shrugs....<br><br>Deltoids - Military Press, Push Press, or combine the Clean and Jerk <br><br>Forearms and Biceps - more for on the water than on the erg... barbell curls, dumbbell curls, close grip chin ups, hammer curls, reverse grip barbell curls<br><br>and for balance <br><br>Pectorals - presses either on the bench or with dumbbells<br><br>Triceps - close grip presses, dips, "skullcrushers" (i.e. lying extensions)

abs and back, arms arent as important, but pushups should suffice... or try using various exercises on dumbells...
