Garmin Connect Integration
Re: Garmin Connect Integration
That would be a question for Garmin as it is their app. I have not seen this issue personally. What specifically did they say the problem was? Did you let C2 support know?
Re: Garmin Connect Integration
Have not let C2 know. Could not find a link to write. Probably not looked hard enough.
My "data-transport" is ErgData-App -> upload from App to C2 logbook -> auto sync to Garmin Connect.
It looks like there is a lot of "0" values under the splits?
For instance:
Avg stroke speed "0" for splits but 27 for overall.
So that is perhaps what they meant by "bad data"/data interpretation compatibility?
Data here is copied from the webpage. Dont know what to expect and what it should be to be good enough for Garmin Connect.

Re: Garmin Connect Integration
Yeah, you need to start with Concept2 and Garmin Connect support. Anything less is going to waste a lot of time. Need to get your answer from the source. Let us know how it goes!

What are your experience of C2's response-time?

Email is hit or miss. Chat and phone are good.

Got this reply so far

There's no issue on your part. We try and work with Garmin to push as much data across as possible, but we're essentially trying to map our data on to their structures, and sometimes there's gaps between what's possible, what's documented, and what is native to them. We've added in a few more characteristics going forwards (average cadence, average heart rate, average pace). We don't currently store max/best values on a split level, so they'll still stay 0 for the time being. Obviously elevation gain and loss will also be zero as well.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.

Re: Garmin Connect Integration
That sounds about right. All of these companies have their own way of doing things and getting them to work together (technically or otherwise) is very difficult.

Re: Garmin Connect Integration
I sync'd my C2 logbook with both Strava and Garmin Connect. After I finish rowing (using ErgData), I push the sync button in ErgData and it goes to Strava, but not Garmin Connect.
Any theories or thoughts why this isn't syncing properly would be much appreciated.
For the few rows I've finished I have had to export it out of C2 logbook (.fit file) and import it into Garmin Connect.

Your comment is not correct.ex1580 wrote: ↑March 25th, 2020, 11:37 amThis is not the correct place to receive support. Please contact Concept2 Support: https://www.concept2.com/company
Ask here if others are experiencing the same thing then report it to C2 for support. It could be a configuration error, it could be due to a back level version, it could be fixed in a PM3/PM4/PM5 firmware package.
Some of us, right now with the lock down, have a lot of time on our hands and may be interested to explore the OP's problems. The software developers get a better report and more test cases when more than one user have worked together to compare failure modes.
Re: Garmin Connect Integration
I disagree. Contacting the developer directly is the best way to get support rather than "he-said, she-said" responses which may or may not be helpful. The developer has documentation and can access system logs which we cannot. I say this as someone who has spent decades working in customer support roles. But if you insist on proceeding at the very least please make your own forum topic. Thanks!

Re: Garmin Connect Integration
I've worked in software since 1981. I spent twenty years working for IBM Software Support (doing Q&A and defect).
We will have to agree to disagree.
That's an attitude that could get you banned from this forum by the moderation team.
Re: Garmin Connect Integration
I have asked the administrators to please close or delete this topic. This topic was created to show Concept2 the need to create the Garmin Connect integration. That has been done. Regretfully it does not work as well as I hoped because Garmin ignores a lot of the data if it was not created on their devices (licensed Firstbeat integration which drives their performance stats for example). Oh well.

I don't know who you think you've asked but there's nothing on the moderation queue for this thread.ex1580 wrote: ↑March 25th, 2020, 1:08 pmI have asked the administrators to please close or delete this topic. I can lock for you it but I won't delete it.
Re: Garmin Connect Integration
I used the Contact Us link. I looked around first but didnt see that I had any other options aside from posting. I do realize that community is good and people have time right now especially but this was a feature request which has been finished and there are better areas in the forum to post training and break/fix issues so others will be able to find them. My intentions are good but sometimes that is lost in text. Sorry for any confusion. memberlist.php?mode=contactadmin
