Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Would it be possible to reset the password for Martin Bussey, Isenhurst Rowers please? I've tried several times to reset it but it just doesn't seem to like it!! I also tried to set him up as a new rower (Martin Bussey 2) that you may want to delete as that didn't work either. Thank you.

I've reset Martin's password to be identical to your's. I've deleted the new id you created.

Thank you, much appreciated.
Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
HI,
Just a quick note to say I've just been the cause of a duplicate entry. Russel Campbell got in touch asking for me to add him to the FM lineup. However, I didn't look to see if he'd already entered a score! Which he had done (for RowPro.) I've asked him to confirm his team intention - at which point I'll come back and ask for one to be removed.
Apologies for this.
John

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Hello!
I'm interested in joining a team for the CTC. How do I get recruited? I'm a USA lightweight with a PR of 6:19, but unlikely to pull that anytime soon. Currently in the low 6:30s on sliders and working my way back into shape. Seems like most of the teams already have their token lightweight male onboard already? Not really sure how this works. Thanks!

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
With a lightweight time like that, every team will bite your hand off to have you on board. So my suggestion is to think about what you want out of a team. For instance, at Fitness Matters, our main requirement is that you row the CTC every month as a member. This can put people off who just want to dabble in the team thing. Other teams like Free Spirits are a lot less demanding.GoodTimesGoHoos wrote: ↑February 26th, 2019, 3:26 pmHello!

Community size, how they communicate (forum vs Facebook for example) and whether there are any extras like monthly challenges or coaching can also help to sway you depending on what you want out of being a team member.
It goes without saying, FM would love to have you with us

Hmm....how to go about this...
I don't know if any of you are familiar with a rowing app in development called Krew, but somehow, I found my way into being a beta tester for the app, one of probably 50 or more folks who are avid rowers.
Within the app is a "workout builder", and as I was looking for something different to do this morning, I settled in on a workout called "Apr 2017 - The Sub7 Sprint Spike". In the details of this workout, it was suggested that I post my time on the c2ctc.com site.
I've been in and out of the C2 forums for about 6 months, maybe a year, and for whatever reason, this is the first I've heard of the Cross Team Challenge.
I was going to submit my 5:54.7, but it looks like I need to belong to some kind of team - which I don't. (Never did play well with others. Only just recently realized that some races have more than one rower in the boat, as it was the Erg that I took to, and haven't been in the water to row yet. That's going to change in 2 weeks, though, but I digress)
The ctc site suggested I pm someone named Daren on the UK forum to register on the site, but the link brought me here - which doesn't seem to be the UK forum.
So, if someone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Hi,
Well, the first thing you'll need to do is either 1) Decide who you'd like to row for (see my post from this morning just a couple up from this) or whether you want to set up your own team.
Then, go to www.c2ctc.com and register as a new rower. When it asks for your team, just pick it from the drop-down, and you're good to go!
However, you can't back-time entries. So if this was the April 2017 challenge, you can't add it to that. You have to enter a score for the current month only (this month, we at Fitness Matters picked a 2801m row in memory of a well loved rower who passed away in January).
Let me know if you need any more info.

You can either find a team on Faceborg or on here (like Sub7, Red Line Rowing or Forum Flyers, etc.) and ask to join them or for the very teamless folks there's the "Independents".ukaserex wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 9:41 amI was going to submit my 5:54.7, but it looks like I need to belong to some kind of team - which I don't. Registration on C2CTC is done at http://c2ctc.com/person.php - it's a self-service system (based on 2005 web design ideas).
Daren owns the site, Daren owns the code. I run the database admin for it.
The UK forum died a sad and unfriendly death in June 2016.
