Finally cracked the 16 second barrier in the 100m tonight...
100m / 15.9 / 1:19.5 / DF 190 / SR 57 / 697w / SPI 12.22

An improvement of 27w over my previous time (16.1) but there is not much satisfaction in setting a 100m PB... Yeah I'm breathing heavy... but not I'm
gasping/collapsing to the floor in victory...
Slight pain/strain in the right buttock but should be okay in a day or two. Warmup was a 5K @ 1:58.4
Congrats for your new PB!

But, from my point of view, a 5k with about 210W is too long and hard for a warmup. For short distances I only do 2k with about 150W and some hard strokes every 500m, otherwise my speed and power is not at 100%.

Good news: new 2k PB by 14 secs today
Bad news:
Last few strokes were still coming in at 1:40/41 so I think I already have it in me, but just wasn't my day. Will try again in a few weeks...
If you are like me this is driving you crazy!! But there is no doubt you will go sub 7:00, so good job and get it next time.

Just got a huge
mental boost prior to the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships this weekend... I managed to take 7 seconds off my 5K tonight in preparation for my upcoming events on Sunday (2K, 1K & 4 Min). My old PB of 18:45.7 was set in July 2017 so I've been itching to better this one for a long time.
5000m / 18:38.4 / 1:51.8 / DF 135 / SR 26 / SPI 9.61 / 250w
It was tough, but I'm feeling better about my chances at the race this weekend.... Needed to have a "win" in my pocket before game day.

Gave 30R20 a go for the first time. I'm not a particularly powerful or strong rower but I was fairly happy with the time, though I need to be more aggressive next time.

That is a great effort for a 30r20. Well done, and looking at your PBs I can't agree that you aren't powerful or strong!

Suffering a cold this week and bailed out of my FM training on Tuesday after 2x20 of a 4x20... today was supposed to be a 2 x 40 @FM pace, but set up a 1hr instead. Still not feeling great but maybe the 3 days off helped as added 73m to my hour giving a new PB of 14367m

According to the rankings - that's in the top half for my age group so happy with that!

Well, that 6:17 2k sort of lets the cat out of the bag! Armando has speed, endurance, and modesty. We should all cultivate these traits while eschewing strength and power!

Thanks! Actually I thought my PB was 14384 for some reason so thought I had just missed it... only when I looked at the end at the one hours stored on the USB realised was indeed a PB

Went to the English IRC today, first time at any kind of rowing competition. Slightly bewildered by everything but if I ever do another one I'll know what to expect.
Met the real life version of @dangerscouse and got a PB, which was satisfying but I forgot to take a note of my splits though overall was almost 4 seconds better than previous PB (6:51.4 today).
Passed the 1500m mark averaging about 1:43.7 and finished on 1:42.9 average, 38spm and 1:34 so perhaps a bit too conservative early on but to be honest I'm happy with it. First few strokes I was way too fast even though I was trying really hard not to but managed to rein it in and settle on 1:43ish before final sprint.
It was also good to see some proper fast rowing in real life today.
