I noticed a while back that this Forum had been upgraded (?). Some changes, nothing too drastic, are noticeable.
However, one thing I'm now experiencing is a change to my log in. I enter my username and password, and it comes back "you've exceeded your maximum number of login attempts", and asks me to log in again, this time adding a captcha; "I'm not a robot".
Anyone else finding this? Is there some way to eliminate that extra step? My username and password haven't changed in years (although I may change the password to see what happens), and I am careful to input it correctly. Minor frustration, but still...

I couldn't sign in for more than a month with my regular browser and had to use a different one.
Now it's working again.

Re: Forum Login
Mark I have been getting ready to make this post too! Have exactly the same problems ever since the upgrade. On my laptop I am still getting the message most of the time and being forced to tick the I am Not a Robot box and then let through. For a while I had to go through the full verification. When I try on my work server it just wont let me through at all - I get the same message as you but even after going through the Captcha verification process it just sends me around and around and won't let me in.
This is the message:
This is the message:
I have sent 5 messages to the Board administrator and to C2 and unfortunately not even an acknowledgement (which is really unusual as they are normally so good at this sort of stuff) Hopefully this may attract attention. You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to solve the CAPTCHA below.

Re: Forum Login
If you've cleared board cookies, you're not running any browser cookie blocker (or option not to save cookies).
Then send an email to info@concept2.com and they should be able to find a fix.

Cant see any cookie problems and sent an email again - the weird thing is that I still haven't had a response from C2

Try ucp.php?mode=delete_cookies
Then if you've tried spamming all their email addresses try the "SUPPORT" button on https://www.concept2.com/company to open a Zendesk ticket with C2.
There's also ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=512 as a private message to the chief forum admin David Hart on here.

Tried that, no joy. I'll let Lindsay continue the attempted dialog with C2...

Re: Forum Login
Yes, I have the same issue. It's annoying, especially when you have to go through the whole choosing the correct pictures business.Cyclist2 wrote: ↑November 14th, 2018, 5:52 pmI noticed a while back that this Forum had been upgraded (?). Some changes, nothing too drastic, are noticeable.

C2 almost never responds to my e-mails about things.

Re: Forum Login
I've tried different ways of logging in (using the mouse, rather than the tab key, to move between boxes, for example). Sometimes it works, most times not.
Seems we lost a real resource when C2Jonw retired. I wonder if there is anyone at C2 that monitors this forum like he did, looking for inaccuracies, problems, or just providing good insight.
Thanks, Lindsay.

Re: Forum Login
Also get the "You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to solve the CAPTCHA below."
I just click the box stating "I'm not a robot" and I'm logged in. Don't have to choose pictures or other such nonsense.
Noticed the forum was offline for a bit the other night. Maybe someone is trying to fix it?

Re: Forum Login
just to let people know that we have finally had a conversation with someone at C2 who may take some responsibility for this logon thing which continues - Jack had to make a phone call and get a name to deal with and she has taken some interest!

Re: Forum Login
This happened again yesterday. The forum had signed me out, which it shouldn't have done. I put in my user name, the correct password, and clicked to keep me logged in. However, the login failed, and the "you've exceeded your maximum" was there at the top. I proceeded to check the capcha questions, which probably took more than 100 attempts to get through, i.e. the capcha was not working properly.
The same thing happened again today a few minutes ago. (1) I was signed out, which shouldn't have happened. (2) My correct user name and password were not accepted the first time. (3) The "exceeded your maximum" message appeared again with the capcha. (4) The capcha was again not working properly, and took about 15 screen changes today. Fortunately my name and password were accepted the second time.
The login is not working properly.
