All In A Couple of Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 10.13.18

It's a twofer day! Captured the numbers early yesterday AM, and they languished throughout another busy day, so we'll have two sets of impressive stats today. Must say that both Baz's and Minnie's stretching routines made me remember back to the first week of school after a nice long summer...and you walked into your PE (Phys Ed) class where you stretched and lunged and did all the moves that you'd done less of in the summer. The next two days were SO painful! We actually had a requirement that you take PE then...and wear the most awful PE suits....onesies with snaps up the front. Perhaps some of you had those memories, too.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Michael's surrounding storms have flooded the little town in Virginia where I was last week - and many of its residents have been without power since Thursday. Five inches of rain can do a lot of damage in a day (danwho can attest to this).

Well done Ed! I'm only slightly frustrated that a 72k day couldn't close the gap with you by even a few meters! :D

This is it! The LAST day of the Fall Team Challenge! Ed and Zach are now number 7 and 8 in the individual standings in the Concept2 Universe for the Challenge following massive meter amounts. Powering the grid indeed...and Carol threw down a nice palindrome today, too. While we have called out these efforts frequently, it is still the day to day to day team efforts that have accounted for the majority of our 12 Million Lunie Team Meters (and we are closing in on Lucky 13 quickly). Without the team efforts, we would not be sitting in the 8th position overall, with 44 teammates reaching 100K or more. Well done everyone!

And as the Holiday Challenge begins to peak above the Lunie horizon, welcome back to Briana P! And bg says to tell everyone hi! She is still having trouble with her modem...although I wanted to talk her through how to post from her phone...

A balmy 13 F (- 10.6 C) to start the day here, although it has climbed to 20. What wild temperature swings we have within short windows of time.

I was excited in this challenge as I was hoping it would motivate to row more. In that sense I got more than what I was looking for. My initial goal was 100K but ended up with 315,513 meters.

I think we did very good as a team. Ignoring that current #1 team who rowed 4 Billion meters which is probably a glitch we got the 8th place but more important than that our average was 142,593m which is the 3rd best result (also very close to 2nd place which is 145,140m).

I think I'll lay low low a while and focus on other exercise types but I understand there's a Holiday Challenge coming up and I'll also be participating in that one too. See you all in that one.

m day yesterday.....it's a Lunie record!

And, you could/should add together all the time marks for the first 100K so that you can be on the list for completion of 100K ranking. You might not pass this milestone again anytime soon....

That last push was important for Zach's number 7 ranking....just 1,503 m ahead of number 8....

What a most excellent Challenge Team achievement! Beats our 2017 finish as number 10 for sure!! Congratulations to our Fall Team Challenge Lunies!!!

It's good to get back to "real" life after a Challenge, but I suspect you will each find that Concept2 has developed an addictive kind of exercise...and you'll find yourself migrating back to your new habits (perhaps on a lesser scale, but still). For some of us, it will be wonderful to get back to real life and be able to get on the erg....gotta dial down the outside distractions and stay in one place for a bit of erg time!

Image October 25-31 ....get your 31K meters!

The Skeleton Challenge is an excellent one to get your started with a Concept2 Challenge. The meter amounts required aren't excessive for a six day opportunity!

Thank you for doing the daily updates, Kona2. I really enjoyed reading them each morning of the competition. I found myself pushing for more meters just to get a perfect palindrome for the next mornings recap - so hats off to you for the motivation!

I totally agree. First Thanks to Kona2 for all of the updates. Also, the palindrome recognition added motivation to be creative and row additional meters.

Great Job to all of The Luna-Tics.

Speaking of palindromes... Do you guys enter a fixed distance when you start or do you just starting rowing and catch the palindrome as you finish? 'coz it's too hard to catch it for me. I ended up finishing with distances like 15,052 and 16,062! Totally agree it's really a good motivation.

Yup, timing is everything. :)
I never tried to land on a palindrome freestyle. I'm surprised you could get as close as only 1 meter off.

I used to row whatever happened, then did the math, and added a fixed number to reach a palindrome. Now, with the bikeErg portion of my daily meters being ofttimes cut in half, I just take what I get. (Palindromes still happen ... once in a blue moon.)
