My wife and I have pads from 2K Fit that seem to work well. The 2" and 3" pads are quite comfortable.
Those all look good to me.
For gloves, I know quite a few team members swear by the NewGrips (
https://www.amazon.com/NewGrip-Gym-Glov ... B00IMOS5J4). I've used Harbinger Pro gloves, which aren't described as being especially applicable to rowing, but worked fine for me (

There has been quite a bit of discussion about posterior cushioning on this forum, especially for really long rows, including pads, towels, and bubble-wrap. I'm pretty sure that Thor and Ed still use (and would recommend) a folded towel. But, as I recall them talking about it, the words "folded towel" fall far short of a description - I believe there was a delicate balance of physics and voodoo in the proper towel selection and folding technique, and we might even get one of them to fess up about the best choice of fabric softener

I never had the problem with heel rubbing. The suggested fixes sounded good to me. But you might also want to search the forums by typing the word "heel" into the search box in the upper right of the page. Heel lift is something that people try to correct in their technique. Since heel rubbing seems to suggest some amount of heel lift, you might want to check out what others have said about heel lift.

Well, I don’t do the mysterious towel fold anymore and haven’t for a while. It did help some but blisters were still coming up. A while back I ordered 2 of the thin cheap pads from C2. I just had to change one recently. I started using two at a time but that didn’t work well. I then just used one to rode that for over a year I think. Just changed it a few weeks ago. It is probably the cheapest option and I sure won’t say the best butt, it worked well enough for me. Next time I will likely buy a better one that’ll last longer.
I used to lift my heel when rowing and I hardly do now. I think I get more power from driving off the whole foot rather than the toes then laying down the heel. I’m no expert so take that for what it’s worth.
A week before the FTC, I tried rowing barefoot for 2K and had a nasty blister and got a band aid similar to what Norma suggested. Worked great for me I didn’t have to stop rowing. Try tightening the shoes? Or just keep the heels down flat and work on ankle flexibility.
I tried some tender gloving care but it just didn’t work for me. I even wrapped a towel around the handle for a while. I just row bare handed and file as required. Be sure to towel off the handle after every use to keep the rubbery feeling to help with the grip. Pulling evenly keeps the handle from slipping out of your hands. I only grip with my fingers and not with my palms. Like a claw I guess.
