How many meters do you have this season and how are you doing on this season's goals?

Post by zen cohen » September 20th, 2018, 7:52 pm

I've been erging off and on for 11 years and my highest season was 880k in 08/09. (My low season was 1027 total meters in 13/14. I'm wondering what possessed me to log it at all.)

As to goals, I decided to row 1M this year and I'm at 720K, so I'm well on my way. I doubt I'll ever get back to any PBs so just trying to improve on last season. Did a SB 10K at 42:22 today, which beat last season's SB by 30+ seconds and hoping for under 41. If not that, under 42 will do. Sure is harder to maintain 2:00 splits than it used to be!

How are you doing?

I'm at 533k this season, my first, so should hit a million easily. Just did my target 10k running in a miserable 48:40, and screwed up my knee to the point of limping instead of walking :-(, so I'm rethinking what to do next. An 8min 2k would be nice to have.

Did 1.6 million last season (2:08 average pace)... Currently at 491K for this season (2:01.7 average pace)... on pace to hit about 1.25m this year.

Last years was all about logging meters, building up the engine... this year is about increasing stroke power & efficiency. Less meters but much harder meters.

367K, 157K of it in my newly purchased Maas Aero since July. Way more fun! Haven't decided whether to start serious training for the WRIC or just row my boat when the weather is nice. Will do the Holiday Challenge, of course (don't want to break my string of 17 yearly pins) so should get around 1.5M meters this year. (That is a drop in the bucket compared to some very focused folks that have the time to dedicate to it).

I guess I'm impressed with your attitude toward rowing. You take what rowing can give you and do not obsess over what might be. This season I have 52K meters, which is about 52K more than I thought I would have. I sure need your attitude to climb out of my hole one row at a time. Doesn't fit my personality at all.

Hoping for 1,200km this season.

I'm at 998,860 for the season. Planning an early morning (0400  ) 6K tomorrow so I'll climb over the 2 comma club. This is my first season tracking my meters.

Also, this is combined meters with the rower and skierg. I try to do at least 50K per week.

Currently at 741,266m, which is about where I was last year at this time.

My goal is not meters rowed, but to make it in to the top 10 for my age category in both the 2k and the 5k, which I missed by a few seconds last year. However, I also realize that it will be tough because at my age, each year adds a few seconds to your time.

Thanks. I'm used to being somewhere in the pack so I'm OK with that. But if I had your skills and achievements I suspect I'd be taking myself more seriously. You have a lot to be be proud of.

I have never counted my meters so actually have not idea how many I've done. Suspect 1.5-2m per year over past 10 years.
This year is pretty much on track which is good.
Goals ok so far and on track (tho haven't been sub7 this year) but will find out on Dec 8 in London - as close to 6:50 as I can get!

I'm up to 899,408 for the season but bad back after lifting something too heavy has slowed me down for the last two weeks. My goal this season was 2 million metres so should be fine for that if I get back on track. Currently averaging about 43k a week I think but mostly my aim is to hit 50k for the week.

I've not been doing it long though so just over 2.6 million for liftetime log. I did 1,464,895m in first full season.

There's just something about the monotony of the rhythm and the honesty of the machine that keeps me coming back for more. It definitely helps that I got my own erg in January otherwise there's no way I could fit in as many metres. Would love to get to 60k or more a week in future.
