New 1 min PB on the skierg. 1m behind the world record, annoying.. Had it until 5 seconds left, then i totally died
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
1:00.0 388m 1:17.3 757 2902 66

5 min rest then did a 4x250m/1:00r target sub 1:25 pace to get a feeling of a sub 2:50 1K. Could be doable within November..
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
2:47.0 1,000m 1:23.5 601 2366 54
0:42.4 250m 1:24.8 574 2273 52
0:42.3 250m 1:24.6 578 2287 51
0:42.3 250m 1:24.6 578 2287 53
0:40.0 250m 1:20.0 684 2649 60
r186m
Could be........

Your speed is so much improved, don,t know what you do, but your improvement goes super fast. Really think you get the overall record. But to be expected that that will be lowered.

No doubt you try again on that 1 min.

@Gammmmo - Thanks :) You should try it, it's fun :D
@Dangerscouse - Just did not have it in me yesterday.. Almost stopped the last 5 seconds, nice feeling
It takes some time to get used to the skierg, especially rating high is a key. My first 500m was 1:34.7 and I felt really really terrible, I remember I was thinking what the h**l have I wasted my money on this time
@hjs - I just try to rip those handles off the skierg and it works :D I would guess Phil Clap is going to lower the 1K overall wr a fair bit if he want to.

Clap is not overly serious, if was as serious as you he would kill all records. Half of the time he is sailing and not training at all.

Rating up sounds easy, but I still find that difficult.

New 2K PB for me 7.36. 7 seconds off last weeks 2K PB. Didn’t really warm up properly so I’m happy with that and by the splits it looks like I could have got closer to 7.30.

Does this significant negative split indicate that I didn’t warm up enough?. I did 7mins at 2:15 after sitting on my arse all day.

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
7:36.5 2,000m 1:54.1 235 1109 28 152

1:52.8 1,500m 1:52.8 244 1138 29 158

Well done Boomer, and I really doubt the warm up was an issue; I very rarely warm up. I think the neg splits are more to do with you being better than you think you are, and you started off too conservatively.

You need to try again and start at 1.54 and go from there. Keep chipping away as you are capable of more

Thanks. I’ll give it a go from the off next time. Be nice to get to 7:29 by the end of the month. Interesting that my previous 2K Pb’s were r21 and r24 guess it takes a while to work out the optimal rate.

Poor advice  a warm up/being ready is always a big plus. You don,t warm up, but have very little control about the outcome of your sessions. Your training goes nowhere, you never sprint etc. Thats are fine, but thats no advice to get getter at things. Thats setting yourself up to underferform. You can,t give advice if you have no clue/don,t care yourself.

Why a good warm up is usefull. The point is to get energy systems ready, that takes some. A good warm up is long enough and fast enough to give you a sweat and a bit put of breath. After this you take a break again, 5 min orso. You will be faster.

Congrats Boomer, but will be harsh  for your build thats modest, keep on working. Dont know how it felt, learning to dig deep is also a skill.

Henry, you have totally go it wrong. The question was did the significant negative split mean I didn't warm up enough, to which my answer was I doubt it.

I didn't tell anyone not to warm up, I just stated that I rarely warm up. That's not telling anyone anything other than what I do and if it works for me who are you to tell me what to do or not do???!!!!

If so sorry Stu.

But a serious neg. Can certainly point to a poor warm up. When you are really ready you don,t start that slow, but more have to control yourself. Pacing was certainly not good.

We both tend to react often :!: difference, in my view, is that at certain times I really focussed and trained for results. You don,t train for results, but more for just doing something. Which is perfectly fine, but not a good base to get result oriented feedback from.

I tell nobody what to do, I say if you want to get better, don,t listen to you. Thats a big difference. But again, what you do us 100% fine, but its not result oriented.
You can give advice, but people can disagree and react!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice guys. I will be happy if I can eventually get under 7min 2K and 19min 5k. I don’t have a good aerobic base so I’ll never be amazing at this but I have to admit I really like indoor rowing!
