Well I learned a good lesson about challenges. If your close to completing a challenge, just get er done cuz you never know what the next day might bring. I just had 3k to complete this challenge when I finished up last night, and knew I would have extra time today to get in a 10 k or at least the 3k I needed, and of course I woke up with a extremely painful back spasm, which I do get on occasion, this one is just way worse than any I've had in years past....Oh well...lesson learned and no rowing for at lest a couple of days. I made an appt. with a chiropractor to see if I can find out if I can get any relief from these occurring. Doctors just give pain meds, which I'm not real big on. Congrats to all you who completed the challenge and happy rowing to all.

Oh, yikes. I hope you find some relief, without going the Rx route. I, too, realized late last night, that I was only 2,800 meters away from finishing the Woof Challenge. But, also figured that I had t-o-d-a-y to take care of those last few meters. Note to self ...

Really sorry to hear that, Doug. I hope all goes well with the chiropractor.

There I was at the intersection of NOW or LATER....in a day that has brought many replays of the same two choices. It also brought the roofers, here to replace the roof. Shrapnel everywhere, and one of the biggest dump trucks I have ever seen parked in the driveway (see shrapnel comment...not all lands in the truck). All I know is that there are some thumps and bangs that make the crystal "sing". the dogs levitate from the floor and I haven't seen Jesse the cat in hours. I will truly enjoy peaceful erging later.

Also sending healing thoughts to Doug for the back spasms issue. I bet a lot of us experience this (things that make us gasp)! My family has a lot of back issues, and one of the back surgeons suggested that we get a copy of Stuart McGill's book The Back Mechanic. It's on Amazon, and is sort of a primer on how to resolve a lot of issues practically.

bg must STILL be fighting through the log in issues. Here she is finishing up a recent race!

Hi all,

I've just joined the team and will try to keep an eye on this forum to get more acquainted.

Upon registration I've received an email stating that I should let you know if I'm going to take part in a challenge. So please note I'll be taking part in Fall Team Challenge 2018.

Hope to catch up with you guys later.

Kind regards.

Not seeing you on the roster just yet! If you meant to sign up for the affiliation (we can see your daily meters then), you'll need to go into your logbook and in the top right of the logbook, click on your name or picture. Then you edit your profile by scrolling down to affiliation (which is different than teams for challenge) and you select Luna-Tics. To add to all the confusion, you can be a member of the affiliation AND the Challenge Team at the same time - but we are all required to say we are participating in a challenge.
To join just the Challenge team, you go to the logbook again and scroll across to Teams heading, then select Luna-Tics from the drop down in the join a team section. As team manager, I'll be able to see that one as the FTC gets closer.

Thanks for the info. I only selected this team in Logbook and posted here. I didn't know there was more to it. I don't have access to logbook at the moment but I'll take a look tonight.

Thanks.

I've done the affiliation bit too so LUNA-TICS is listed in both categories now when I view my profile.

My stats aren't very impressive but all the more reason to make them public so that it gives me incentive to improve.

Is there an official place to declare that we are participating in a challenge? Or is this subforum enough (I think I mentioned it in a previous post)

Thanks again for the pointers.

No need to say you’re participating in the Challenge - we’ll see your name.

Don’t worry about stats - we’re not judging! We like to highlight milestones and fun numbers. We’ll cheer you on whether it’s 2000 or 20,000 m. Do what you can, when you can and it will all be good!

Actually, we won't see your name if you selected that nobody can see your profile, etc. All that gets listed is name withheld1 on our data sheet...and not sure if that is what you meant to have happen. Will assume so, and list you as NW1 on our data report outs. It all has to do with the privacy settings, and selecting that no one can see your profile, etc.
