Yes, a 6.9 second improvement in 12 days, but that's it for now. I was breathing quite hard the last few of them.

@hjs - Not sure where I got the energy for the last rep, but I was in a very dark place the last 30 seconds
Next a one minute test? Those only hurt 15 seconds.
Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Had my second go at the 60 minute test and improved to 15909 - now adding a 16k 60minutes to my goal list. Thinking of testing my 2K tomorrow - with my recent PBs in the 1K, 5K and 60 Min. I am not 100% sure how I will pace it. I usually plan for a small improvement but my other times have me thinking I could reduce by maybe an average of 1 second per spilt. If I do test it I think I will do a few hard pulls to get going and then settle on a 1:39 pace and then see if I can either keep or lower from there.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
New 10k PB. 37:13.4 Which with an average pace of 1:51.6
I pace longer pieces on feel but with a definite pattern of starting slow, and ending fast; 1:52.2 -> 1:50.6
I dragged the erg outside onto the drive to get more air and to be a little cooler. I think there's more to come when the weather cools down.
I'm not really what I'd consider in top form. I've only just started a few intervals on top of a short base after another period of bad/no training when both of our dogs got poorly and died and we basically went to pieces emotionally and therefore physically.
Haven't done a 2k test in this training block yet because I'm worried what I might find out about my form. Might try one next week if I can force myself to have a little taper without ballooning from 78 to 250 kilos in 2 days!

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
I said I might test my 2K today but ended up doing it last night...6:35.7! I have been posting a lot of PRs lately (sorry) but I just keep testing stuff as I have been doing well. My plan to be sub 6:30 by WRIC 2019 definitely seems within reach now. My test last night I hadn't had a lot of sleep and had a long work day but it went pretty good - my pacing was not quite as consistent as last test but overall results were good - splits were 1:38.3 (32), 1:39.9 (28), 1:39.7 (29), 1:37.8 (33).

@Keith, you're rivaling Marius for constant PBs!! Well done, great effort. I will need to try and catch you now
@ Nige, nicely done. Sub 37 mins isn't far off, do you think it's within reach? I think it is a lot of 10k pace is aerobic and getting your head in the right place.
@ Paul, cheers mate

Thanks Gammmmo and Dangerscouse! It has been fun to keep doing PR's and I still might try a few I haven't done for a while but might wait to post until I hit some milestones. I am sure a plateau is coming at some point and I wont see the big drops in times and will just need to train harder!!

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
I think it's possible with some work. Of course like all my PBs, I cannot imagine going any faster. I was on the ragged edge of breaking the whole time.Dangerscouse wrote: ↑August 30th, 2018, 12:51 pm@ Nige, nicely done. Sub 37 mins isn't far off, do you think it's within reach? Fitness is a strange thing. You just go faster. Each breath, each heartbeat seems to go further.
