SR56??? I can't imagine rowing that fast. Well done on everything else and hope your trap heals quicklylancecampeau wrote: ↑August 10th, 2018, 6:21 pm
First run
100m / 16.1 / 1.20.5 / DF 200 / SR 56 / SPI 11.98 / 838w peak power (1:14.7 pace)
Second run (aborted)
100m / 18.8 / 1:34 / DF 200 / SR 42
I fell off the seat completely with 50m to go and strained my right trap in the process (a long time, nagging injury)
Did the whole thing while wearing jeans and a T-shirt ... A better overall strategy should deliver a sub 16 soon.

Good luck! First stroke of 1:40 or less and you're in business!

Re: Sprints and Stuff part deux
Perhaps you have sprinter genes, Lance.
I've been away for a while (stupid busy) but looking to return to some HIIT work on the erg. I have a big project on the immediate horizon and it's one of the only things that keeps me grounded. That, and I've been making some lifestyle adjustments recently and I'm curious to see how they pan out.
The fast stroke rate is key! It's a game with the erg to keep ahead of the flywheel deceleration, slow stroke rate means you need to lay down a lot more power to keep it spinning fast.

He also uses a pretty high rating. With his strenght a bit lower could be better. Was still fly and die though, so he gave his best.

Re: Sprints and Stuff part deux
Yeah, their pulling and carrying challenges (like truck/plain pull, carrying weights for max meters) at strongman events normaly last for 60-75 seconds, so their anaerobic lactic energy system must be well trained, together with massive strength - perfect preconditions for fast 500m.hjs wrote: ↑May 29th, 2019, 5:25 amThose strongman are not super unfit, think he would even pull a pretty ok 2k.JMac wrote: ↑May 29th, 2019, 4:19 amhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35Gf5Gmm9Mw

It's good to see Brian Shaw on the C2 in a couple of video...the one posted above and another where he pulled a 12 second 100m. It would be nice to see the erg used in some strongman comps...maybe for low pull, 100 or 500m
