Re: Forum Flyers
Yes, depends a bit how tall you are, say 1.80 or below 75 is doable and could even be an incentive to lean up more.rosid wrote: ↑August 28th, 2018, 1:56 amThank you for the warm welcome. I will definetly check out the CTC.
I am afraid I can't help with the lightweigth with my 81,5 kg (or being female, for that matter), but maybe I will get there. I have steadily been losing weight since May. Lightweight is 75 kg and below, is that correct?
Daniel
Re: Forum Flyers
Yes, 75 kg should be doable, as I am 174 cm tall. I will report back if and when I reach 75

Re: Forum Flyers
I have signed up for the Fall challenge! Will start logging on the 15th.
I cant see any sign of the indoor rowers league starting on September 1 yet but if it is then we will need to put a High Flyers together??
FWIW we need at least 8 and better 10 to do the monthly challenges from September to April and I suspect some of last seasons members won't be around! I would be nice if we could get a team but if not it is still worthwhile as a training focus/goal
https://indoorrowers.org/indoor-rowers-league
Last year's members were:
Rolf Boers Man 50-59 HWT
Lindsay Hay Man 60-69 HWT
Dave Moores Man 40-49 HWT
macroth Man 30-39 HWT
TerryD Man 70-79 LWT
John Adcock Man 40-49 HWT
Piers Man 50-59 LWT
Chris Hester Man 40-49
Graham Woodley Man 60-69 HWT
Paul Newton
The events are: 4min; 1 mile; 6344m; 5000m; 1min; 2k; 10km; 500m

Re: Forum Flyers
I'm up for joining the IRL if it goes ahead. Also happy to make way for faster individuals if we get more than 10.
Cheers

Re: Forum Flyers
Dave I suspect we will struggle to get the 8 and I reckon first in best dressed.... and don't forget that there is an adjustment for age which is quite helpful for older guys/gals/lwts (tho you still have a long way to go to get into that group of course)

Lindsay, Piers Man [sic] above is Piers NEWman from MerryOlde. Did himself no favor with that “Pieman” e-handle.

Lindsay - sorry to say I will have to opt out of the IRL as I'm still not rowing - ankle feeling as bad today as 3 month's ago. I'm in two minds whether to sign up for the FF FTC (SkiErg metres) as although I will add to the overall total, I will without doubt lower the team member average!

sorry to hear that Paul - the Skierg sounds like a good option.Paul N wrote: ↑August 31st, 2018, 3:32 pmLindsay - sorry to say I will have to opt out of the IRL as I'm still not rowing - ankle feeling as bad today as 3 month's ago. The IRL is open for business for the new season.
If anyone would like to sign up then I think just nominate the High Flyers 17 when entering profile.
If you are not competing this year then best to go into profile and remove that team so that others may sign up.

I'll pop a time in soon to get the ball rolling.lindsayh wrote: ↑September 1st, 2018, 7:22 pmThe IRL is open for business for the new season.

Should we not create a new team (e.g. High Flyers 18) in case we can't get all the previous people to release their membership of last year's one? It's flexible until the end of the month I think, so we can track membership here, and communicate any changes before then. So it looks like we have at least 3 in so far - me, you and Rolf.

Re: Forum Flyers
That probably makes better sense - we will create a High Flyers 18 and then re affiliate - may not get the 8 I guess but worth a try. Terry is very likely as well.Slothful1 wrote: ↑September 3rd, 2018, 12:51 amI'll pop a time in soon to get the ball rolling.
