Hello,

I am using my Garmin Forerunner 910XT, together with the belt for the heart beat. If I pair the 910XT with the PM4 of my indoor rower before a training session, all data including heart rate, pace and kilometer will be monitored and uploaded to garmin connect within the next sync session. That's not what you are searching for, correct?

This is only possible out of the box with the old Garmin watches. The newer watches do not have the required communication protocol.

There has been an attempt to make a user app with the same functionality for the newer Garmin watches. This app is called ErgIQ:

I must admit that after reading post #4 in that thread, I haven't bothered with the app for my Garmin Fenix watches.

I use ErgIQ and it's okay. All the PM5 stats are recorded, and the workout is recorded as an indoor rowing workout. Unfortunately, the default fields are all blank, i.e. 0 KM, 0 strokes, while all the real stats are all recorded as custom IQ fields. I realize this is a limitation of Connect IQ, but yeah, it kinda sucks.

I still use ErgIQ while rowing just to record the workout and my heartrate, but afterwards I manually upload the .FIT file from Logbook into Garmin Connect. Let the workout sync back into the watch, then delete the ErgIQ workout.

Edit: I guess none of these matter any more since Garmin integration is released.

Yes - just to confirm the integration between the Logbook and Garmin Connect is now live. To set it up, go to the edit page for your Logbook profile and then the Applications tab.

Any workouts uploaded from them on to the Logbook via something like ErgData (i.e. an app that sends over stroke data) will be sent automatically to Garmin Connect.

If you come across any issues, please send an email to ranking@concept2.com.

After having setup my SkiErg September 3rd, I had no idea the Garmin integration was so fresh

Works as a charm!

One question though is about laps... for interval training, it would be fantastic to have the data available for the individual laps in Garmin Connect. Is this something that is scheduled?

The new integration is great. Thanks! This is a big time saver and makes sure all of my data is everywhere it needs to be.

Bob01, this topic is about syncing workouts recorded in the Concept2 Logbook to Garmin Connect. It has nothing to do with Garmin hardware as the workouts were all created on the Concept2 Performance Monitor. Please contact Garmin support for help. All of their devices should sync to Garmin Connect.

There is no reason why a Fenix 5 session will not be synced ... Go to the C2 Logbook site ok the Garmin connection in the profile area of the site. Then use ergData (or boatcoach or painsled etc) to record a session then sync with the C2 logbook ... the fit file will be generated and transmitted to Garmin connect site.

Can/will previous Logbook entries be synced to a newly created Garmin Connect account or will it only sync new entries to the logbook after the integration is turned on?

If not, I can they be uploaded manually?

Thanks.

I asked this question to Garmin support a while back and their answer was that it will sync new workouts only. For the old workouts you have to download the fit file for each workout from the logbook and bulk upload them to Garmin Connect.

Thank you for the follow-up. I will go down that road as desired.

Hey David!

I will bounce a note to that email but wanted to ask here too.

I can successfully sync ErgData to my C2 online logbook, and those workouts further sync with my Garmin Connect account.

When I log workouts to a USB stick, then use the Concept2 Utility on my PC to move the workouts from the USB stick to my account online, those workouts don't make it to my Garmin account.

Any way to fix this?

When you use a USB stick, do you get a diagram showing pace and stroke rate in the C2 online logbook?

If not, the USB stick has only recorded overall lap data, and there is nothing to export to Garmin Connect.

(I know for certain that a LogCard can only record overall lap data. I think it is the same for a USB stick, but I could be wrong.)
