Post by mmayzak » August 25th, 2018, 4:30 pm

Well I learned something today my rowing peers... DRINKABLE protein.

Hit the wall pretty hard today - sadly.

Something... muscle milk, or a protein supplement....NOT BARS! To dry, to chewy.

What an upsetting day.

I wanted to go for 24 hours... actually wanted to set the world record. I was ahead of the pace after 4 hours, by the 6th I was 6 seconds behind.

:(

Wasn't going to be able to make that up... stopped at 70K.

What's the world record?
I think it's a really bad idea to drink milk, or anything high in protein and fat, for endurance.

You need carbs. No wonder you bonked.

The world record for us 50-59HWT's is 279,242... 2:34.7 pace (including breaks).

It's not as simple as it sounds... the first 4 hours was going great, I was like HELL YEAH - 2 hours later I was like, THIS ISN'T GOOD.

70K isn't the 280K I wanted.

Next time i'll be a little better prepared for the calorie burn/replenishment.

Grrrr...
