C2 measurements

Post by teddyDK » August 17th, 2018, 4:24 pm

I am thinking about renting an C2. How much space do i need to have it to train and put away/into a wall?

Anyone train like this at home with not much space?
Is it ok or is it hard to motivate yourself?

The Model D is 96 inches long and 24 inches wide. But when stored, it takes up much less space. it breaks down into two pieces that when placed upright next to each other has a footprint of approximately two by three feet.

It JUST clears our standard ceiling height of 2400mm when you stand it on its nose.

As above it takes up much less room if you stand it up. Breaking it down into two pieces and reassembling it every row would be a pain. Even for the latest version Model D which has a very simple connection method. The old "Cam Lock" version produced a very solid join however and was great if you never took it apart on a regular basis.

Motivation is a problem for most people. I started to use music but that did not last. Really the indoor rower only worked for me because RowPro came along with live online rowing. Now into my 10th season of indoor rowing using it.

As long as you are motivated by improvements in your body and your performance over time, then you should see enough results to be motivated to continue and to push harder. If, on the other hand, you expect instant gratification you are likely to be disappointed. Rowing slowly is very easy, but doesn't produce great results. Rowing fast is hard, and continuing to push yourself when your body wants to stop is a mental challenge, but you will see results. For some people overcoming that challenge is itself a reward, but over time your body will benefit and you'll see that, both in the mirror and in the PM display, so that too is a reward.

The thing about exercise is that it only take two things: time and effort. As long as you don't injure yourself doing it, you are 100% sure of improving. If that improvement motivates you to do more, then you will keep at it.

Good Luck

Late to the party, but it's really no big deal to separate the C2 and store it in two pieces. I have a small home and always store it that way. Flywheel is on wheels, which makes moving it easy. The rail isn't at all heavy and the two pieces connect in a snap.

As to motivation, I'll admit that there are times when I have none. Then I watch this video: https://tinyurl.com/ybpycdun
