I've no frame of reference for the SkiErg, marius, but looking at your erging prowess I'd say you were killing it... :D
He is relative better on the ski. And his rowing was pretty ok already

I have tested 4 different rows in the last two weeks and set PRs in all of them. Last night was the 1K and while I was thinking I could PR I wasn't expecting to lower it by 4 seconds when it was already pretty decent but......3:04.9! I have been enjoying setting these PRs but I probably need to just get back to training. I can't tell you how much the longer rows have helped my shorter rows and that's due to advice I got on this forum.
Wow, great time! Always good to see this as it is really motivating and I've not gone for a 2k PB yet this season so may have to try.

Too hot for me today to go for the 2k so I tried a 500m PB and managed to lower it to 1:32.9 and even saw the PM flashing 1:30 for a little while which felt good.

Manged to bring the split down to 1:30.5 from 200 to 400m but faded to 1:31.5 for the final 100 so not great pacing but 100% effort. DF was 141 for this.

I don’t think there are any races here in Norway. I think most competitions are in CrossFit?

Not a post without a pb
New 500m pb. Down from 1:21.4 to 1:20.6. Two weeks since the last 500m pb. I did not believe I would ever start thinking about a sub 1:20 500m on the skierg, but need to start now

We have had a horrible heat wave here in Germany starting exactly on my 60th birthday and now lasting for four weeks already. Today I got my second chance at doing a row (its cool)
and I took it in the morning: 30 mins 8222m. It about equals my old age PB from a couple of months back.

However the rankings won't accept the verification code. I did it on the same machine as the 6K
but did not check if the date was set correctly (it was when I did the 6K so it probably still is).
I did it in Frankfurt, Germany about 9:30 in the morning so this means it must be the 10th of August in the States already.

I soldiered on through the entire heat wave which reduced my ability to recover. Yesterday I was finally nearly dead and had to take another rest day and slept ten hours. Now we have two cool days, then it gets warm one last time (I hope).

I absolutely hate the heat!

 That's a great distance for most people, at your age that is excellent. Really well done

H2O - rankings accepting or not, that's a great row!

@ Marius - congrats again! You're killing it! Nice work! Looks like the Erg is helping your SkiErg and vice versa!

Jimmy - that's a nice time on the 500m!

Keith - They are all falling for you, fantastic!

Thanks Henry. It’s my rowing pb’s, not sure how interesting skierg pb’s are on this forum
Thanks Mike. I’m doing 90% skierg at the moment and mainly ss rowing. Doing hard rowing will probably affect my recovery, so staying away from that at the moment.

1min pb on the skierg. 7 days since last 1min pb. Felt a bit dead today after yesterday’s ctc(2079m, pace 1:26.6), but felt I could at least do a 1 min sprint. 2m improvement and finally 380m/sub 1:19 pace.
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M

So now your ski sprinting is faster than your rowing. Unusual, but some have that. Could also be you simply didn,t train for sprints on the rower much.

Re ctc, find that ridiculous fast  . Min is great ofcourse, but that ctc.... You must have great recovery and lactate buffering.

Thanks Dangerscouse and mdpfirrman. I got lucky with the temperature. Regrettably it will get
very hot one more time. Definitely the longest heat wave I have experienced.
I also figured out what was wrong with the verification code: I copied it down incorrectly.

Forced rest, no skierg available

Henry - Yes it is faster than my rowing, but there are some unreleased potential on the rower :D Just need to get bored from the skierg first
I do the 6x1:00/1:00r workout twice a month, so have developed that specific workout pretty good. Was very happy when I saw this was the CTC for August B)

I did a new PB today on the 500 M, 1:40.9. I do not do much sprinting, and I am not sure how to train to improve this time. (I am not sure if I care much, but it is fun to post faster times.) All that being said, I kicked up the SPM far beyond what I would use for a longer distance, and I faded badly. My race strategy was to start fast and keep rowing.   I cannot generate this amount of power without going full out. My stroke length is 1.12-1.15 M normally, although it is probably shorter on these very fast strokes.

Any advice for training or race strategy?

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
1:40.9 500m 1:40.9 341 1471 39
