The rest of the goals will not be reached for my holiday, no planned short workouts before that time. Some minor health problems got in the way, otherwise I would have made at least 3 of those goals. Now I just need endurance for climbing mountains in Nepal, so short stuff has no use the rest of this month.

Now see, the trick is, once you GET BACK from Nepal, take a distance test. That'll be fun, what with all the altitude acclimatization.

Learnt that from last year.

A stage at height doesn't have too much of a impact on training at sea level.

After my holiday I will take up training with weights primarily and shifting my erg training to sprint training.

well, at least theoretically, shouldn't a stage at altitude raise your hemocrit values? this would then give you a greater capacity for transporting oxygen, wouldn't it?

Training at altitude to perform at sea level is a practice that has been abandoned by most professional sporters nowadays.

This study targeted at rowers shows it's better to train to at sea level than at altitude for performing at sea level :

http://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/0428.htm

And another study stating the same, although living high and training low could have a positive impact :

http://www.sportsci.org/traintech/altit ... >

I will be climbing a 21000 feet mountain, so the negative impact of less oxygen will be greater than the compensation my body will do. I guess I need to train a little bit harder when I come back
