And so we have passed through another May 1st - and naturally (naturally!) this reminded me of not only May Day with the whole flowers and ribbons thing, but also of the many highly dramatic movie moments where the radio would crackle and you would hear "Mayday! Mayday!"...and before I knew it, I was down the bunny trail...!
Another episode....bunny trails of the mind
Minnie started this bunny trail last week when she shared a short clip from dictionary.com where two kids were discussing what they thought certain phrases we all use actually meant. When I looked up Mayday! Mayday!, here's what I found in a fun blog called Disappearing Idioms. http://disappearingidioms.com/mayday/
Meanwhile, Marathon Fever is starting its run through the Good Ship Lunie. We now have THREE teammates on the Global Marathon Challenge honor boards. Congratulations!

Fun fact! It had never occurred to me that "mayday" sounds exactly like "m'aidez!"
And, I simply cannot pass up the opportunity to share the "short clip from dictionary.com" where two kids are discussing idioms ... mainly because the girl in pink is my grand, and occasional Lunie team member:

If you've got it too, you might have noticed a couple of entries for new world records. I thought I'd point out that our Luna-Tics team has a couple of Rowing World Record holders. Can you guess who they are?
Shaun is a most excellent researcher - beats me out easily in the hunt-it-down talents! After somewhat futile searches, EVEN though I was given some off screen clues, I had to resort to .... google and type in concept2 world records. Was that sufficient? Oh no. I went back to Shaun for a Second Lifeline, and was told to look in adaptive rowing world records. The Lunies do indeed have two who are world record holders: E Vos, and Mighty Thor. Impressive!
And so it is that Shaun leads the team on a wild sheep diversion (WSD) - and shows us what we surely would not have seen otherwise. Cool stuff.
My congrats to our record holders. Some impressive times in there.

oops...and here is the link - https://newgrip.com/collections/frontpa ... s/newgrips
I started using these gloves after I developed some painful calluses. They work well and are quite comfortable if you give them a little time to conform to your grip.

31 Lunies on the team roster as of day 3 of 365...and I hope to make that 32 by end of day! Perhaps others who have yet to ring in the 2019 Erging Season with a meter deposit into their piggy banks will be joining us also!
Meanwhile, David T is still savoring that last meter before the zeroes that fill in the 20,000,000 lifetime meters click into place. Biggie milestone...that's half an orbit ! And Minnie has taken top spot in meter contributions....she's Queen of the Boat. Danno has emerged from the Shadows. Two more half moons from Derric and Gary, and a sprinkle of palindromes. Life in Lunaverse is erging right along! Thank you all for making it so.

Thanks so much Kona2 for all you do, and the much needed encouragement.
My next goal is: 20,037,500 meters.
Can you guess what that equates to?

Derby Day approaches...
20 horses are in the race, with one alternate just in case Saturday dawns and one of the horses is under the weather. No horse has ever won from the dreaded post position 17, but it could happen. One of the favorites is Justify (a Baffert horse). Lucky position five is occupied by a horse called Audible (and owned by the audiobook peeps), and there is one that has a bit of cosmic appeal: Magnum Moon. I think I'm calling an Audible.
Meanwhile, another moon shot has occurred and David A has completed his half marathon to complete the Marathon Challenge! Hooyah! Derric added another half marathon (making it three so far for the Challenge). I high fived my way onto the roster.
MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:
