Does anyone use a Wattbike?
Does anyone use a Wattbike?
Like a lot of ergers I've started to use a Wattbike in training....and what fun it is!
Quite a few people in the online erging club I'm a member of (Sub7) also use it so I've organised a monthly league. It has the same monthly challenges as the Indoor Cycling League on the Indoor Rowers Website so no need to double up for those that already do that one.
The league is ordered by average Watts for the ride divided by Kilos of bodyweight to get a Watts per Kilo average and means that men and women, big folk and little folk can all compete on an equal basis.
It's on a facebook group but if enough people on here are interested in taking part I can extend it to this forum as well so if you are interested do please post a reply and get it going.
This months challenge is a 60 minute ride....how far can you go?
If interested.....please post saying so.

For the Faceborg challenged please post a link here.

I'm saying that I would run the league on here. There's nothing I can post a link to as it's on a closed facebook group.Citroen wrote:For the Faceborg challenged please post a link here.
If enough people are interested then I would have a league table on this forum...... no takers so far though so looks like it may well not happen.

Not in a position to do this, Rod, but how do your outputs on the wattbike and erg compare?

I did a 1k on the bike in 1:21.3 and a 60 minute piece covered 30k.GJS wrote:Not in a position to do this, Rod, but how do your outputs on the wattbike and erg compare?
On an erg I would do 1k in around 3:20 and in 60 minutes would cover about 15.5k.
I have no idea how the watts compare I'm afraid.

Cheers, chum.
Nice bits of kit. Just a little better than the Argos efforts we all used to use as clothes horses back in the day.

I use erg and wattbike... Including sufferfest
Re: Does anyone use a Wattbike?
I use the Wattbike, either the Pro or Trainer at the gym. I'm currently renovating the garage to make a gym and I'll be buying the ATOM in the next six weeks.
I love training with it and have just started rowing again so not using the bike as much. I used to row using the wattbike app but found distances were not realistic as they don't take into consideration elevation etc I now use Zwift and the Wattike. Works really well. (also testing two other bike software packages). It's a hell of a workout!
The only problem is that as i weight 97kg at the moment I'm at a disadvantage when going up hill!!
Good to see other riders on here.
