To be clear, I won’t be submitting this as a record, as despite the unusual circumstances leading up to the effort, that did definitely facilitate an extraordinary performance at some level, nevertheless the watts achieved at such a low rating defy credibility and I have strongly suspect a calculation error. I’m not confident that an error may not occur once speed drops below 1:00/500m and shows on the screen as 0.00/500m and for all I know the verification code may in fact confirm a calculation error. Nevertheless, given the time, I wouldn’t be comfortable claiming a record on this without either clear video evidence, or a substantial number of credible witnesses, to support it.

I don't understand entirely how it tricks the PM, but if you cover the flywheel cage with a towel it messes up the calculation and gives very low splits. There's a video of some kids pulling a "world record" 2k this way on YouTube.
