Just got back from Boston where I just barely caught Carole Mac's race, met a few forum and C2 folks, and had to head home to get ready for evening company. The atmosphere is electric, (at least for spectators.) Next year I'm racing. There now I've said it and I'm stuck.

Dwayne - thank you for thinking of me. i did it!

Mark - thank you for you kind words. i executed the plan!

WIRC was LOTS of fun! it was really neat to meet Mike Caviston, Rob Meenk, Jim Pisano, and Greg King. Unfortunately, I didn;t get to meet Paul Siebach.

i also got to see Graham Benton and Nick Flemming in action...inspiring. actually, seeing all the rowers show what they got was awesome. i'd highly recommend the experience.

i also picked up a model D erg, so after a day of rest tomorrow, it's time to give 300m CTC a final go!

Would Taffs want me even though:
- i am not welsh
- i have never been there
- i am not sure where it
- i may not know how to spell it.

i do like to erg many metres, and i hope to get faster.

thanks
Adam
Well done Adam

I got my times wrong for the webcast, so I only got to see the final 1000m of the final race - Nice to see Graham Benton win though.

It was on from 1am to 8am here in Brisbane

And as far as joining TA - if spelling Wales was a pre requisite - Dwayne would be looong gone

And thats my first and last poke at Dwayne

Go Taff Attack
Brendin

I was away from 9:00 AM this morning until about 4:00 PM this afternoon with a live race here and a long, late lunch with my family afterwards. I've received a number of times from people, and hope to get the spreadsheet updated and published tomorrow -- some time.

We'll have to publicize it earlier next year for those that are not going to the 2007 CRASH-Bs.

Once again, nice row!

Regards ... Great row, Adam!! And next year, not only register as a Taff, but wear a Taff AIO!!

Niall, are you the Niall who rowed at Crash B today??? I looked all over for the Taff colors but didn't find you.

It was cool meeting Paul Smith and also Mike from Ps sports. Erg monitor is definitely on my wish list for whatever excuse I can think of for buying myself a present next. I ran into c2Jon and Paul Flack (missed their races though). I saw Andreas race, and Toddler (from the UK site) and saw Anna Bailey from across the hall...CB Bohrer raced right next to Carol Mac...Got to see Nick Fleming's race. It was really fun to see so many of the great rowers there! It was really inspiring to see the adaptive rowers and to hear the whole crowd cheering them on to their finishes. What a great group of people we are all part of!

If i could find/afford one i would definatley wear it in public as well, perhaps i'll rent one for the next indoor meet! 8)

Owen

P.S. HT at Lsdown Road, we were very dominant early on but SJ went off injured and we seem to have allowed the Gwyddelod back into the game a bit, need to pull things together second half but it should not be a problem!

Shot for 7:16.0.

Used some new technique (more reach) and kept shoulders down (thanks to Paul S. for video review). This new stroke caused me to go out a bit too fast ... got to 1:43 and 1:44 and did not get back up to 1:50 fast enough. Then had some problems hitting 1:49 second 500M (even saw some 1:52s!), as well as hitting 1:48 from 1500 to 1800 (saw many 1:50s). Did manage to pick it up last 200M thanks to great coxing from Katie. Pulled some pulls better than 1:48, which was a first for me at that point in a 2K, but just not enough to do better than 7:19.0.

Still hit one goal - break 7:20.

Second goal has only next week to be hit - 7:15.0 or better. A stretch I think. But we'll see.

Arena was dry ... very dry ... very painful sore throat and lungs last night, and still today.

Give us a recap of your race Adam.

Thanks -- Mark

Hey Mark,
Sounds like a challanging race but congrats on breaking 7:20!!! That's awesome. The dry air seems to be a challenge at a lot of venues, I remember Niall or Martin complaining of the same thing at a race recently. The air quality at the Crash B seemed good--not at all too dry. I didn't hear anyone complain of it. Hope your throat feels better soon and well before your next race! Keep us posted on the results!
