It's great to see Henry. I didnt realise that you were training so much. Is your logbook on Concept 2?

Yes, c2 logbook, easy to find via the rankings. My current volume is the highest I ever did, used to do more other shorter stuff.

Two PB's in 3 days...

1K went from a 3:15.5 to a 3:14 on Thursday... Then I smashed my 2000m PB today by going from a 7:04.6 to a 6:58.1 !!! All that hard piece training I've been doing recently for the 1K Virtual Sprints has translated in a hell of a week... :o

Congrats Lance! Keep that momentum going :D

Had something posted but its not there....

Ski pb 6k 147.3 tough going, not doing great this week. Still record three, but need to revisite this one at a better moment.
Goal was 146.5, but soon had to let that go today.

Thanks everyone! It took 14 months of focused training to go from 9:32 to 6:58.1 in the 2K... but that 1K last Thursday was what really pushed me over the top. I was SO nervous before that piece and had serious doubt about being able to manage my previous PB pace of 1:37.7... However, after managing a 1:37 pace for 3:14, I realized that it was time to strike on a sub 7 attempt because 1:45 pace for 7 minutes no longer seemed so intimidating.

The bad news... Now I have to go sub 6:58 :|

First look at your 5k. And think bigger, 6.50 is next...

@ Lance, really well done on the PB and that's a massive leap in time too for the 2k.

Pretty sure I could have hit 7:01 or 7:02 at the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championship last month but I held back a bit because I wanted to do a solid piece with "no pauses". Next up is my 10K.... want to go from 1:58.9 pace to a 1:57.5 or better....

Nice 2k Lance! Huge improvement and welcome to the sub-7 club. Next stop, sub 6:50. I kinda wish I'd done a 2k when I started back seriously in July so I could track my progress from there.
hjs wrote:First look at your 5k.
Agreed. Your 5k could probably be beaten fairly easily on any given day at the moment, and with a bit of focused preparation sub 18:30 should be doable.

30 minute rowpro session for me today as a warmup for my personal training this evening. I was looking for an easy row, but the two other rowers that joined were beasts and flew ahead of me at the start. I settled in at 22spm and was inspired watching those two go at it. The leader bested me by 1100m at the end, but I wound up with a new PB for 30 minutes so I was pleased. My last prior PB was 6870m so I was happy to finally cross 7km.

Good job!
It is nice when we pass certain numbers, like the 7 km.
