New WR 55-59 LWT 6:29

Post by Edward4492 » February 10th, 2018, 4:24 pm

I hope he won't mind me posting this, I don't think he would go public on his own. Mike Smith re-set and shattered the WR today at the Center City Slam in Philadelphia and I had the good fortune of being at the event. The previous record was posted by Roy Brook at 6:38 and Mike gutted it at 6:29. He had ranked a 6:35 several weeks ago, but 2k WR's need to happen at a race. We spoke before the race and he told me his target was 6:32. After the race we spoke , he said he wanted to push it far enough so he wouldn't have to do it again. I think this one is going to stand for a long time. Well done Mike!

Great result, the records in the 50 plus are falling all over this season.

Mike really took a big chunk off Roys record. Roy btw also pulled 6.34 outside a race. But this is still 5 seconds better.

Thanks guys. Hopefully this record will stick for a while (at least past the WIRC this weekend!). I'm still waiting to hear from C2 making it official.
