It's hard pushing, but it's so slow that I can really concentrate on good form, especially tightening the abs at the catch. When I try to do all out sprints at faster spms, I tend to lose that and that's when it happens. It's still an excuse though.

From the ""give credit where credit's due dept.

I've been reading the Taff Attack thread, and got a few tips.

Thanks to Carla (seat 5) for the metronome idea. I didn't use 60 and evey third beat though. I can't waltz that slow. 80 bpm and every fourth beat was better for me, 4/4 time kinda guy.

I tried a mantra, thanks to our Krysta. "2..0..3..0" worked for me. (went 2:02.9)

Tried the CTC again. I took 2 seconds from my previous attempt.

Thanks for the help ladies.

Kirk

The Eh! Team

Any stories to tell from Surrey yet?

Well done to Chippy for Silver in the 805m event. Whatsa this about you loaning your AIO?

Niall, How did you feel about your race?

I see the Old Tart just missed out on the podium.

My mind was very much there.

Mrs T has gone away for the weekend and forbidden me from going near the C2 but I might just have to go and touch the handle. I now have a brace fitted so I can bend at the knees. However the knee is still swollen and physio told me not to do too much until the swelling has gone. grrrrr

Phil
Happy with how my races went. Plan for 3K was race start then settle into 1:55 pace (comfortable pace) and then go from 250m out. Race went perfectly and I felt good throughout. Finished in 11:25.8 (1:54.3).

Plan for the 805m again was to pace it conservatively so race start then 1:45 pace and sprint home 250m to go. Stuck to the plan and ended up with a 1:43.0 avg pace. Had the best start ever and managed a 1:29 split! Also managed to get a split of 1:37 at the end too. Finished in 2:45.8 (1:43.0).

Thanks must go to Dougie for a great peace of coxing during my 805m race, nice one fella!

As a treat, I've put together a short (2mins) video of the Taff Attack team (plus Kimberley ) in full flow during the team event. I would loved to have been a part of it but we had to go with the three strongest performers so I stepped back.

Taff Attack Team Relay Video (2mins, 6.5MB)

Kimberley put a great effort in and did us proud. Her 30 second effort was at an average of 1:29 - which is pretty impressive, but when you watch the vid you'll notice she fell off the seat too.

As for joining Taff Attack - we tried but she's committed to another team, doesn't stop us asking thou.

Kim?????

KIM??????

I did my 30 min tonight. 7706m which was what me and Chippy worked out to be 70% 2k power. Arms going dead after 15 min, but heart (176 max), body, and mind up for it again before month end - Tidy Like.

Top Day - Other highlights
Rob Smith's 'Perfect Stroke'
Craig Lynsey's balastic last 200m dash only to lose to big trev by 0.3 sec.
Pirate making my kit go faster than its ever gone before.
