Hi All,
Posting a quick update. Since the New Year I have been on a low carb diet. Been hitting approx 50-60g net (after removing the fibre) per day of carbs, the rest from protein and fat.
Training wise, I'm back on teh 5x5 (Routine A(squat, overhead press, deadlift), Routine B(squat, becnh press, row)), 3 times a week alternating A/B. Last year I would be able to knock out a 5k @ 2.:05 after a session, HR ~148. This year I can just about do 2k at 2:12, with my HR at 158+
Weight wise - I have lost 2.5kgs so it's going in the right direction, still early days.
Thanks for all you support.

Wooo great news!!!
If you feel comfortable beeing strict and counting calories, carbs and such, and can carry that for quite some time, then it's awesome.
I'm too lazy to be doing that, so cutting a couple of things here and there and trying hard at the gym did it for me long term. And today I'm not feeling it's any kind of sacrifice.
In no time you'll need to make new holes to your belt !!

Good Day,
From personal experience:
Immediately start using some kind of lotion on your whole body, but especially where you have held the fat the most. Don't wait. I had A LOT of weight to lose and am in the process of doing so. With rowing, more than anything else, your muscles get firm and the fat starts to melt quite quickly which will lead to stretch marks, etc. Lotion helps this. It has been disappointing to see the scale going down, but the marks increasing. I know time helps, but do yourself a favor and start the lotion regiment.
