All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.04.17

Post by Kona2 » January 5th, 2018, 10:04 am

Image Day 5 of 31 .... and we're at spot 12....

There is ALWAYS opportunity to change the team position on the overall Challenge roster. Even though some teams are listed as ON WATER, you can bet that those team members are erging away - getting in good competing shape for their season. Much as I'd like to filter out the On Water teams to move us up in the rankings...it would be a head in the sand moment. It is a long Challenge, just as our journey to the moon is a long one. Buckle up.

Noted that David A put an SB = 1:24:56 by his half marathon. I'd not seen an SB before, but am guessing season's best? Well done !

Meanwhile, a special shout out to those who join our virtual team for the Challenge. Many are repeat teammates for this Challenge, and we are grateful for their contributions!

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:

6.2 MM Ed
1.25 MM danwho

Duh, sorry for my 100m only contribution yesterday - was only testing LiveRowing - no time for more.

I have completed a pice just before you uploaded the stats, must have missed my upload to LogBook by seconds :-).

Are you all just logging your workouts in the LogBook or are you using some other web apps for statistics etc? I have to admit i am a statistics junky, too bad LogBook only shows, HR, SPM and Pace :-(.

Any of you use anything else? Would appreciated the info. Cheers.

All meters are good meters ! We don't judge the amount...we just celebrate what you have time and energy to do.

As to how the meters are logged into the Logbook...there are a variety of inputs depending upon what version of the PM monitor you have. I have a wireless monitor, so I either have to use Erg Data app (or something like it), or a flash drive to capture the meters. Some use the Concept2 logcard. I did this for MANY years, and then card reader availability became the issue...so I switched to wireless. Some use a manual entry. When I am traveling, I often just take a picture at the end of the erging session and then transfer that information to my logbook manually. I bet most of us use a combination of methods. Whatever works for you - you just have to get into the habit of erging, and recording. A wise person once said that we measure what is important to us. Creates a bit more personal accountability.

Snort. I could ALMOST believe this if I didn't know how exceptional you are in how you are willing to challenge yourself. Marathons, ultras, and the favorite...the nude race. Old-fashioned? Plain old type of gal? Hahahahaha. Who you kidding?!

Hello All!

It has been awhile. I stopped rowing after Master's Nationals in August of 2016 due to a shoulder injury (bursitis). (Which meant I stopped erging too.) It started getting better and I started up again in the spring of 2017. Then I found out work was moving me from the elementary to the middle school level. This meant I had to be at work at 7:10 am. Sadly, this meant I couldn't row anymore since getting off the water at 7:00 would not allow me to get showered and to work on time. So I never really got back into rowing.

My rowing friends encouraged me to come out to the boathouse for an erg session on Dec. 30. This reminded me that I actually don't mind the erg. I am trying to stay motivated and put some meters in. I do hope to get back on the water this year whether it be in my single or with another club (GULP! That may be hard) but either way, I am pathetically out of shape. I'm hoping the Jan. Challenge will help keep me motivated to get some meters in.

Happy New Year Loonies!
