LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

A member of an indoor rowing team or club? If so, this is the place for you.

Can this one team row to the moon and back?

quick question since i am totally new to Team on the Erg.

Is anyone welcome to join your Team or is there a type of "approval"? I am a novice rower - my shape is bad as well - still would love to add a couple of meters to the Team.

Thanks for the feedback. Cheers.

D.

To join the team on a year round basis (we can "see" your meters and celebrate them daily that way), you will need to go into your profile and scroll down to where it says Affiliations - then select Luna-Tics. Of course, you can join the Virtual Team for just the Challenge...but we don't track the meters the same way. Either way, we welcome all teammates!

Thanks for the welcome. I modified my affiliation now as well. I’ll do my best to help out!

Cheers,

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.02.18

Image NINTH ! Whoa. This morning we were Ocean's Eleven. See what happens in a few hours!? Truth be told, there is not a lot of separation between the teams at this time.

Only had a small window of posting opportunity this AM, but did grab the numbers early on...so things may have changed (just like the JVT rankings did!). There are some of my favorite palindromes included in today's numbers, too...all good!

Yikes! I see that the first canoe has hit the virtual waters ! I will have to get the graphics ready !!

Just to refresh our collective minds, the January Virtual Team Challenge is one of two challenges where we "earn" Lunie team graphics. At 100K, you claim your canoe. This is not as useful as it could be until 200K when you earn a paddle. Sort of like bumper canoes in the river. At 500K (and there are some who will go here), you become a member of the Bathtub Brigade. Once a BB member, always one as you get to keep your graphics. They don't change substantively. Depending upon our resident artist's time and inclination,m we either get a more personalized Lunie native at the time of earning a paddle, or a generic one. Some of this is dependent upon whether we ever had a photo of you, and the bigger part is what AJ might be working on at the time..we respect his time first. Sometimes there is a million meter boat earner. We aren't called Lunies for naught.

Having said all the above, I may have to have a second helping of rowing tonight. I am woefully behind our leaders.

What a shame! I don't think I am likely to make it to the 500k mark, last year I had a lot more free time as I was not working, but just in case, I did keep a copy of AJ's artwork

Speaking of work, yesterday a bright spark in the office suggested a New Year's fitness challenge, and everyone was all in favour. We are each taking it in turns to pick a fitness challenge, and we will measure our performance now, then see who can improve the most in the next three months. Yesterday was push-ups, I was trailing the pack. However for today I brought in my secret weapon.

Image

The challenge was a 500 metre, and of course we were only trying to record a baseline for comparison with the next attempt... however it was very satisfying to finish faster than the significantly younger athletes in the office :D

PS: I have given up on Photobucket, my free account is just so full of ads I can't log on. I'm just trying https://postimg.org, it seems to do the job for free.

Good day for Lunie numbers! We've got 7 palindromes, at least ten moons, a trifecta of 1.35 MM milestones, and a whole lot of teammates contributing meters! Keep the pedal to the metal though because a mere 13K separates us from spot 10 on the podium. The good news is that spots 5-10 are separated by less than 400K. Chip away, Lunies! Chip away!

I often notice, when I'm loading my evening's meters before going to bed ... that you are already up, ready to enjoy your breakfast marshmallow fluff!

I cannot justifiably claim the moon, that is a time difference issue and represents two days! A later 17 on day 3 and an earlier 10 today
