Re: Forum Flyers
Fine CTC effort this month by Catherine Martin (who hails, IIRC, from Alberta, CAN) to join boat #1 and bring the FF launch total to 3 boats. Very soon Lindsay will have to press gang the gals at his gym if the regulars don't show. Busy season certainly but two boats with blades still on the float today so make time to get em underway. Easy as 1,2,3 1,2,3.

Re: Forum Flyers
Gym machines can be a right pain. My ever-expanding ritual at the start of every session is now as follows:Dreadfish wrote:Thanks Lindsay
gonna have to change to a different branch of the gym i go to as the rowers PM modules have crapped out. rather annoying
1. Check the PM comes on when Menu button pressed (e.g. batteries not dead)
2. Check the footplates are solid - lately, several are wobbly and/or squeaky because of loose or even missing screws (will have to take a screwdriver soon). Plus other checks such as seat and chain action are OK. Look for a different machine if necessary - my gym has 8 and fortunately the C2s are not the apparatus of choice for most
3. Check the PM date & time are set correctly and adjust as necessary
4. Set the drag factor
5. If doing a challenge piece or PB attempt, first do a prelim warm-up and check it saves to the memory OK (I've had this fail in the past). I don't use ErgData or anything like that - just try to take a photo from the memory when I can hold my arms steady

Hi Paul
Yeah current branch has 2 concepts. Both model c. One with a pm 3 the other with a pm 2. Will be going to the other branch tomorrow. (Xmas day) which last time I went(lol many years ago) had 5. I also take a pic at the end of the session. But have got a cable to plug my phone in to use ergdata.
Hi Todd. My son was over there for the second time doing camp America. He went down to Florida after camp both times. Did a bus trip from Miami to LA to meet his girlfriend... took ages. Lol.

Have you signed up to the Concept 2 site (Logbook)? If so you can join our team, and (/or) you can affiliate with us there. Henry (hjs) is our Captain.
You can join our team at this page: https://log.concept2.com/team/5360
You can affiliate with our team at this page: https://log.concept2.com/affiliation/30/season/2018
The difference between joining and affiliating is as follows:
If you join a team, you can participate in any or all of the three annual one-month challenges:
Virtual Team Challenge - January 1 - January 31
World Erg Challenge - March 15 - April 15
Fall Team Challenge - September 15–October 15
If you affiliate, all of your metres rowed count towards the team's total for the whole season (starts each 1 May).
You can also sign up to our team on the completely separate CTC (Cross Team Challenge) site: http://www.c2ctc.com/index.php
This has very different challenges each month and is very good for variety and for trying to get into a floating boat (which requires at least 1 lightweight and 1 lady). Registration there can be a bit clunky - ask here if you have any problems or seek out Citroen in the Cross Team Challenge thread in the Competition sub-forum on this board.
Some of us also compete in the Indoor Rowers League (IRL - yet another site) but we currently have a full complement there for this season.
A lot to take in - it's all a bit complicated first time coming to it!
