Met the 200K milestone...earned the $6....and the holiday challenge pin! Onwards!
Today's meter accomplishment may pale in comparison to braving the line at the USPS....
Congratulations K2 on your accomplishment! Made me laugh on the USPS comment - Not that I miss postal service... but when you don’t have that service like over here, it is something you have to work around. No daily mail delivery. Not complaining because we have worked around the issues. Just nothing simple.
I am having to put in some extra meters to meet my goal of top 10 for the challenge - I will do my best and help the charities that is what it is all about.
Happy Rowing,
Ed

Starlight (Ted)
And $2 more dollars into the charity donations! Well done!
For those of you who might be watching the needle on the grand total meter that is on your logbook page, there is always this teetering point around what used to be the "almost there" line of $25 K for about a week. Now that Concept2 moved the goal gauge to 40K, well we don't exactly know what will happen by December 24 end of day! There will be a tsunami of meters in the next few days for certain, as individuals who are currently hovering about 10-20K away from earning $2 will suddenly land on the 100K plus milestone and ka-ching or....ker-bling as Shaun would say...the needle will move!

Yes, I see that you are number 11 on the list of mega-meter earners at the moment...and Eric is right behind you! Keep pulling for your top ten - we can't hardly wait for you to crack the 1,000,000 m milestone!
It does seem anachronistic that we can live in the instantaneous world of Skype and mobile phones...right next to the mail services (although have to admit that two day shipping, etc., is a really far cry from what it takes to get things overseas). But improved greatly over 40 years ago!
Not surprisingly, I play a number game when I go to the post office...or any place where I am going to be in a queue. I guess of how long it will take me to reach the customer counter, and start the stopwatch on my phone. When I get to the destination, if it's less time than I thought it would be, I say "you all are doing great moving all of us through the line!" The postal workers wonder what the time from door to counter is themselves. Yesterday was 18 minutes. Today was 16. Things are looking up (because I'm not going to the USPS tomorrow) !

Blitzen (Gary)
Blitzen is rocking around reindeer land having earned his 500,000 m in the Challenge milestone...and the ear wag that completes the reindeer bling sequence of antler lights, flashing harness, tail wag and ear wag. It also means that he has earned $18 towards the Concept2 charities...AND his holiday challenge pin. Where else could we get our own reindeer and all that virtual bling while helping Concept2 do good things in the world??!! Great work, Blitzen!
