Pacing for various pieces?

Post by nickels » November 11th, 2017, 8:40 am

I'm wondering if I could have some insight on how the following pieces would relate to 2k and 5k splits:

5x5 Minutes (5'R)
3x10
4x1500

Those pieces straddle UT1 - AT. They're not done as races, so will be 75 to 85% 2k Watts, if that was a test.

The long 5' rest if you stop dead will get you well out of HR band or even cold, so is not necessarily a good idea; the usual rule for rest is shown in the Interactives, based on how HR drops. https://indoorsportservices.co.uk/training/interactive

What if the 4x1500 and 5x5 were full pressure?

With 5 min rest, close to 5k pace, tad below possibly 1/2 seconds on the av

5x5' is a 2K prep workout. So it should be between your 2K and 5K pace, depending on your endurance. My best 2K was 1:39.4, and my 5x5 right before that was 1:42.5. I'm much more of an endurance athlete though, so it should vary.
